OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN POSTPONES JUNE CONCERT DATES CANCER RETURNS

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN POSTPONES JUNE CONCERT DATES
May 30, 2017 - Las Vegas, NV — Olivia Newton-John is reluctantly postponing her June U.S. and Canadian concert tour dates. The back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour, has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum.

In addition to natural wellness therapies, Olivia will complete a short course of photon radiation therapy and is confident she will be back later in the year, better than ever, to celebrate her shows.
"I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia,” says Olivia Newton-John.

There will be no interview requests accepted at this time as Olivia’s focus is on her treatment and healing. Ticket buyers for the upcoming concerts should contact venues directly about refunds. Rescheduled concert dates will be posted at OliviaNewton-John.com in the coming weeks.

Rhonda Vincent Teams Up With Daryle Singletary On Upcoming Duets Album American Grandstand Set for Release July 7

NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 26, 2017)
 – Rhonda Vincent, who The Wall Street Journal dubbed “The New Queen of Bluegrass,” is teaming up with country sensation Daryle Singletary for the upcoming duets album, American Grandstand, set for release July 7. The project delivers real traditional country music with a unique American twist. This must-have album will be released via Upper Management Music, and fans can pre-order American Grandstand HERE.

“I’ve always loved singing with Daryle Singletary. He’s one of the greatest singers in this generation of country music,” said Vincent. “It’s so fun to sing with someone who challenges me as a singer. The songs were given great thought, along with one that was totally unexpected. It’s one of the best projects I’ve ever been part of. I am so proud of this recording, and I cannot wait for the world to hear our wonderful creation, American Grandstand.”

The lead single, “One,” offers the very first taste of American Grandstand. The slow love song takes fans on a musical journey. The track may sound familiar, as it was previously made famous by country legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette, whose demanding vocal duets helped propel both acts to superstardom. Singletary and Vincent first performed “One” together at the legendary Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium in April of 2016. Due to the overwhelming response, the dynamic pair chose to add the track to American Grandstand.

Standout songs include the title track, which was written by Vincent. When Vincent and Singletary were first trying to think of a title, American Grandstand stood out, which by definition is “to behave or speak in a way that is intended to impress people and to gain public approval.” This isn’t Vincent’s first venture into country music, as her previous Grammy-nominated studio album Only Me featured a combination of six traditional country songs and six bluegrass tracks, featuring “We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds,” which is also included on American Grandstand.

“Rhonda and I have been singing together since my first CD on Giant Records in 1994. I've been a fan of Rhonda's singing before that, but since then for sure and it's obvious as she has sung on most of my Indie records as a background vocalist or a duet partner,” said Daryle Singletary. “If you love traditional country music, and remember songs originally sung by well-known duet partners like George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, and Merle Haggard and Bonnie Owens, this is a must-have CD that we are extremely excited about.”

Fans will have the chance to experience both Singletary and Vincent together as they play select shows later this year (full schedule HERE). Fans in the Nashville area will get multiple opportunities to experience traditional music at its finest, as the pair will appear on the hit show, “Music City Roots," along with an appearance at CMA Music Festival, plus a must-see album release party at The Nashville Palace.

Carissa Leigh Releases Tribute To Troops This Memorial Day Weekend AXS Hosts Exclusive Listening Party

Carissa Leigh Releases Tribute To Troops
This Memorial Day Weekend

AXS Hosts Exclusive Listening Party

NASHVILLE, TN. (May 26, 2016)-- Just in time for the Memorial Day holiday, talented singer/songwriter, Carissa Leigh, celebrates the release of her charity single "At Night." A haunting tribute to our troops battling PTSD, Carissa will be donating all proceeds from the release to Operation Stand Down. "At Night" was produced by Los Angeles trailblazer, Tone Def (Green Day, Santana, Outkast, Black Eye Peas), and can be found on iTunes and other digital retailers.

AEG owned AXS.com has the audio exclusive HERE.

Carissa explains the inspirations behind the release: "At Night came from conversations I had with someone I was dating about how he might not be in the Middle East any more but sometimes at night, he would wake up and think he was. He was a big, strong guy, and to see him get emotional inspired me to write about guys like him, who seem okay but sometimes at night, they let their guard down. I wanted to give the proceeds to OSDTN because I know they do amazing work with struggling veterans, actually part of the chorus was inspired by something I saw in their lobby that said "home of the free, because of the brave.""

Operation Stand Down was a natural choice for the Nashville based artist as she spends her free time volunteering with the organization.

2016 found the release of Carissa's 14-song project, "Better Than I've Been."  Showcasing her incredible vocals and autobiographical songwriting skills, the album was produced by Tone Def & can be found HERE on iTunes. Industry and fans first turned their heads to Carissa Leigh with her 2014 debut of "Bad Boy" and then later with "Pack That Bag." Produced by Tyler Cain (Meghan Linsey, James Otto, Ashley Monroe) and co-written by Leigh and J.T. Hodges“Pack That Bag” impacted over 5 million country fans.

Billy Ray Cyrus Guest Stars in Nickelodeon's All-New Blaze and the Monster Machines "Wild Wheels" Specials

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 23, 2017) – Internationally renowned multi-platinum recording artist and acclaimed actor, Billy Ray Cyrus, lends his voice as a guest star in Nickelodeon's 'Blaze and the Monster Machines' all-new “Wild Wheels” animal-themed episode.

The first special, “Animal Island,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus as Lazard, a greedy lizard-truck, premieres Monday, May 29, at 12pm (ET/PT), followed by “Toucan Do It!” featuring Kelsea Ballerini as Tooks, an athletic toucan-truck, on Wednesday, May 31, at 12pm (ET/PT).

The “Wild Wheels” specials follow Blaze and friends as they transform into animal-trucks and meet new friends on Animal Island, an incredible place where everyone is a talking monster truck animal. Blaze and the Monster Machines follows the adventures of the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ, and it’s the first preschool show on TV to comprehensively cover all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in every episode.

In “Animal Island,” Blaze and Stripes are sailing the open sea when they discover Animal Island. While ashore, they make new friends and marvel at the animals’ amazing powers but a greedy lizard-truck named Lazard (Cyrus) wants those powers all for himself and decides to steal them using a special machine. Then, in “Toucan Do It!,” Blaze, Starla and Darington visit Animal Stadium where they are set to take on a team of animal opponents in a game of Jungle Ball. When the friends discover they are down a teammate, Blaze recruits an athletic toucan-truck named Tooks (Ballerini) to join their team. When the ball accidentally flies far from the stadium, Tooks boldly flies to get it but her feathery tail gets trapped under a rock. Now, it’s up to Blaze, Starla, and Darington to transform into animals to rescue their new friend.

In the toy aisle, Nickelodeon and Fisher-Price, a subsidiary of Mattel Inc., will launch an all-new toy line inspired by the “Wild Wheels” specials this fall. Available at all major retailers, the complete line will include die-cast vehicles, talking and super stunt vehicles, and a track set that brings the fun and dynamic characters from the show to life.

In Blaze and the Monster Machines, the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ have adventures that explore the physics of how things move; tackle problems through scientific inquiry and mathematics; and discover the parts needed to make everyday technologies work. Each action-packed episode is filled with monster trucks, physical humor and upbeat original songs with lyrics that highlight a STEM concept such as adhesion, friction, force, trajectory and magnetism. Blaze and the Monster Machines is created by Jeff Borkin (Team Umizoomi head writer) and Ellen Martin (Bubble Guppies supervising producer).

BOBBY BARE'S NEW ALBUM THINGS CHANGE TO BE RELEASED MAY 26

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 10, 2017) – Country Music Hall of Famer and GRAMMY® award-winning living legend Bobby Bare will release THINGS CHANGE May 26, which features a collaboration with Chris Stapleton. The album is Bare’s first studio project in five years and is available for pre-sale now at BobbyBare.com and all CD's purchased through Bare's website will be autographed. THINGS CHANGE is the follow-up to Bare's critically-acclaimed album DARKER THAN LIGHT.

THINGS CHANGE will feature 10 tracks written by Bare, Mary Gauthier, Guy Clark and the producer of the project, hit singer/songwriter Max T. Barnes. THINGS CHANGE will be released by HYPERMEDIA Nashville and BFD through RED Distribution. The album will include "Things Change," which will be the first-ever video filmed by the 82-year old legend. Bare will also return to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, where he was once a member from 1964-1974, with a special performance and in-store on May 27, the day after the album's release.

The album features a special collaboration on Bare’s iconic hit, “Detroit City” with Chris Stapleton adding his unique vocals. The song was written by Mel Tillis and Danny Dill and was originally released by Bare in 1963. It would become one of his most highly requested songs to this day and won a GRAMMY® in 1964 for Best Country/Western Recording. Stapleton, the two-time reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, says working with Bare was too good of an offer to pass up. "I think it's important to show up and do things like that. Plus....it's 'Detroit City.' Man, why wouldn't you do that. I just served as a background singer to Bobby. That was my goal. You get to be a kid again in those moments. That was a song that I heard on the jukebox when I was a kid. My dad and granddad liked this song. Those are cool things. That kind of stuff is as cool to me as anything that I get to do."

Bare is excited about the collection of songs he has assembled. “This is a special collection of songs to me, not just another record. Great songs from Mary Gauthier, a song I co-wrote with Guy Clark that turned out to be his last and a song that my buddy Hoyt Axton inspired me to write called ‘Things Change.’ That’s the title of the album and the first single. Things do change but my love for songwriters and the fans never, ever will!” said Bobby Bare. Bare knows what he's talking about when he talks about great songs, having recorded compositions from fellow legends as Tom T. Hall ("Margie's At The Lincoln Park Inn"), Ian Tyson ("Four Strong Winds"), Kris Kristofferson ("Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends"), and several compositions from the late Shel Silverstein - including his 1974 chart-topper "Marie Laveau."

“I hit the road as a lead guitar player with Bobby Bare when I was 20 years old. To imagine I would produce my hero all these years later is a dream come true. We had so much fun touring the world in the 1980s. We laughed until we hurt! That’s what it was like in the studio with Bare on this album. He has a wicked smart song sense, and a delivery that will cut you to the bone. Bare is a true giant,” said Max T. Barnes, President of HYPERMEDIA Nashville.

MAYOR MEGAN BARRY PROCLAIMS MAY 10 RYMAN AUDITORIUM DAY IN NASHVILLE

Historic date commemorates the day Captain Thomas Ryman
was inspired to build the “Soul of Nashville”

In a ceremony held earlier today on stage at Ryman Auditorium, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry issued a proclamation celebrating May 10, 2017 as Ryman Auditorium Day in honor of the iconic venue’s 125th anniversary.

“From its beginnings as a church to its years as the home of the Grand Ole Opry to its revival as the coolest concert venue in the world, the Ryman has a story like no other building – anywhere,” Mayor Barry said. “I’m grateful for everything the Ryman means to Nashville, and I’m excited to celebrate its first 125 years while looking forward to many more.”

Colin Reed, chairman and chief executive officer of Ryman Auditorium’s parent company, Ryman Hospitality Properties and Opry Member Vince Gill joined Mayor Barry onstage to celebrate Ryman Auditorium Day, which is also the 132nd anniversary of the meeting between Captain Thomas Ryman and Reverend Sam Jones that inspired Ryman to construct a grand tabernacle for the people of Nashville.

“As the owners of this Nashville treasure, we view ourselves as both the stewards and protectors of its rich and storied legacy,” said Colin Reed, chairman and chief executive officer of Ryman Hospitality Properties. “We are thankful that Mayor Barry has chosen to recognize not only the historical significance of the Ryman but also its continued influence on Nashville’s thriving music and tourism industries.”

“If you think about it, music has had a great history here, but the real purpose of this building was to save people... and 125 years later it’s still saving people,” expressed Gill. “This place just has spirit that you can't even put into words. It really is a magical place.  The very first time I ever sang in this building it was just me and a guitar, and it was one of the most majestic experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I really felt that spirit move through me. This place more than any place I’ve been...I really felt that spirit. Whether I play here with a seven-piece band or a bluegrass band... no matter what you throw at this place it takes it and elevates it.”

The song was released in October 1986 as the second single from the album Plain Brown Wrapper, and reached No. 1 in 1987. The song remained on the chart for 21 weeks.

“This single and its success are really special to me because the album that it's from was a risky record at the time,” said Morris. “When Plain Brown Wrapper was released, using your own band was off limits in Nashville. I wanted to record an acoustic album and use my own band, and I was able to get permission to do so from Warner by agreeing to the duet album with Crystal Gayle, Another World. With the freedom to use my own band, I was lucky enough to work with some highly noted musicians for the single and the album including Edgar Meyer on upright bass, Mark O’Connor on fiddle and mandolin, and Jerry Douglas on oboe. Despite breaking all the rules in Nashville at the time, the album saw great success and gave me my fourth chart-topping single in 'Leave Me Lonely.' I love everything about the single and the album.”

Morris has a total of 5 No. 1 hits and 16 Top-Ten hits on the Country Music charts. He reached the Billboard Top-40 with his first two singles after signing with Warner Brothers in 1980 and scored a top ten with his third single “Headed For A Heartache.” In 1984, he tallied his first number one with “Why Lady Why.” The infamous “Wind Beneath My Wings” won Morris Song of the Year from The Country Music Association (CMA) and The Academy of Country Music (ACM) in 1984. He was named Billboard’s 1982 Male Vocalist of the Year.

Morris continues to tour, dates listed below, and indulge in one of his greatest passions - the outdoors.

DOLLY PARTON HELPS DISTRIBUTE FINAL MY PEOPLE FUND CHECKS AND SURPRISES FAMILIES WITH $5,000 CHECKS

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Friday, May 5, 2017) – The Dollywood Foundation administered the final distribution from the My People Fund on Thursday with recipients noticing an extra surprise when they received the check.

Thanks to fundraising efforts, Dollywood Foundation officials were able to provide a $5,000 check to each family as they work to recover from the Smoky Mountain wildfires which occurred last November. Beginning last December, the My People Fund provided $1,000 each month to Sevier County families whose primary residences were completely destroyed due to the fires.

In total, recipients received $10,000 as a hand-up to help start their rebuilding efforts following the fire. The fund, which was established by Dolly Parton, The Dollywood Company, Parton’s dinner theaters and The Dollywood Foundation, was supported by contributions from across the country, as well as donations made through the Smoky Mountains Rise telethon which took place in early December.

“The My People Fund has been a great success,” said Parton. “I want to thank my team, the Dollywood Foundation, my friends in the music business and the thousands of people from all over the country who opened both their pocketbooks and their hearts to help us.

“Over the last five months, we’ve given nearly 900 families $5,000 to help them recover. Yesterday, we had our last distribution and I went over to The LeConte Center to say thanks to all the volunteers and to help give out a few checks myself. We matched what they’ve received already with another $5,000 check. I know $10,000 can’t solve everything, but I do hope the money will help them to dream again.”

In addition to providing initial monetary support to displaced families through the monthly check distribution, the remaining funds from the My People Fund will continue to help the people of Sevier County. At least $3 million will be contributed to the Mountain Tough Recovery Team which will serve the continuing needs of residents during the critical rebuilding period ahead. This program will begin helping families on June 1.

“We’re still receiving money, so we aren’t finished yet,” Parton added. “Recovery will take some time, so a new organization—called Mountain Tough—has been created to help our people get back on their feet for the next three years. We’re giving at least $3 million to help this new organization begin the next chapter of our journey.”

Mountain Tough assists individuals and families recovering from the wildfires by providing resources for the unmet needs of low-income families and individuals in Gatlinburg and the surrounding Sevier County area. The team seeks to restore the quality of life and provide for the long-term needs of those affected.

“Mountain Tough will help pick up where the My People Fund left off,” Dollywood Foundation President David Dotson said. “They will be staffed with case managers who will work to identify the immediate needs of residents and our funds will be used to address those needs. For example, it may help with transportation so someone can continue to be employed, or it may help with medicine for conditions caused by the fire. The case managers will coordinate with county agencies to ensure needed assistance is not duplicated and achieves its maximum impact.”

Anyone who wants to help the Mountain Tough Recovery Team with their efforts should visit www.mountaintough.org for information on how to donate, how to volunteer and much more. The website is the official source for all information regarding the recovery effort.

Nashville, Tenn. (May 3, 2017) — Restless Heart pianist and vocalist Dave Innis performed at his son's wedding this past weekend in Fort Worth, Texas.  Innis' son Isom, a member of the Platinum-selling pop band, Foster The People, married actress Carlson Young, best known for her role on the MTV series, Scream.

Innis surprised his son and new daughter-in-law with a song, accompanying Carlson's longtime friend Whitney Davis as she serenaded the couple with the classic Etta James tune, "At Last."

He also joined his son Isom and his bandmates from Foster the People on-stage to perform several tunes for the bride. The evening ended with both father of the bride, Texas oilman Marshall Young Sr., and father of the groom, Innis, sharing the stage with Foster the People and Los Angeles-based Beatles tribute band Abbey Road to perform "Hey Jude."

"I have never been more proud as a father than to watch my son marry the love of his life," says Innis.  "Carlson is his match and equal, in every way. We wish them all the love and blessings in the world. My wife Adrienne and I would like to personally thank Carlson's amazing parents, Marshall and Susan Young, and all of her family and friends for the warm welcome and celebrations that have united our families."

Country Music Superstar Billy Ray Cyrus Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of "Achy Breaky Heart" With A Reissue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 2, 2017) – It started out as a simple two-chord song with one verse and chorus, and ended up becoming a worldwide phenomenon that topped charts around the globe and made a superstar out of a boy from Flatwoods, Kentucky. “Achy Breaky Heart,” the multi-million selling country single that pretty much launched the 90’s line dance craze, is undoubtedly one of the most history-making songs in all of country music history. The song created a sensation upon its release 25 years ago, and now the artist who made it a smash, Billy Ray Cyrus, is releasing a brand new version of the song with a host of different versions and guest artist appearances, including Ronnie Milsap on keyboard, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of the original. The new cut was recorded in Muscle Shoals and co-produced by Cyrus and Don Von Tress, the writer of the quintessential hit.

Cyrus sees plenty of parallels in the world at that time and now, and felt like it would be a good time to go back in and re-record the feel-good smash that had everybody’s hips shaking and feet moving to its groove.

“When the song was released in the spring of ‘92 the world, believe it or not, felt much like it does right now,” said Cyrus. “There were wars and rumors of wars. Famine and darkness was revealing itself much around the globe. People were divided. And politically it felt as crazy across America as it does now. Basically, it felt like a good time for a happy song. Something simple that everyone could sing and yes, even dance to. Take your mind off all the heavy stuff for 3 minutes and 27 seconds!”

The new version of “Achy Breaky” is actually a little closer to writer Don Von Tress’ original vision and sound for the song that he penned over a quarter decade ago. “We went back to my original demo which was a little more back in the pocket, and Billy really loved the demo all those years ago and he said ‘Yeah, let’s try to emulate this thing,” recalls Von Tress of recording the new version. “So we kind of did that, but with some new twists. The song is so simple...it’s two chords and some nursery rhyme verses really, so we created something again we both just really love, and it’s just fun to have the opportunity to put this song out again for people to really enjoy again. I really hope they love it as much as the first time!”

For Cyrus, revisiting the hit that made him a worldwide superstar and laying down the track provided a real full circle moment in a career that has no doubt had plenty of memorable highlights.

“For me personally it completed the body of work known as Some Gave All and a decade of persistence, dedication, failure, successes and a will to strive for purpose through the music,” said Cyrus. “A journey which led to a moment in time that just fit. Not to mention a friendship and musical soul mate that would last a lifetime. For you see, I had written "Some Gave All" about a Vietnam Veteran I met in 1989. Don Von Tress, himself a Vietnam Vet, walks into my life with what will become the cornerstone and launch pad for an album that represents a singer/songwriter from the Appalachian foothills of Eastern KY who had a dream and vision of touching peoples’ lives through music. Nothing more...nothing less. Full circle if you will.”
