Charley Pride Makes Triumphant Return With Upcoming Album ‘Music In My Heart’ Set for Release July 7

Music In My Heart

Project Features 13 All-New Recordings Produced by Billy Yates

NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 27, 2017) - Country music icon Charley Pride is pleased to announce his upcoming album, Music In My Heart, set for release July 7. The project marks the CMA “Entertainer of the Year” winner's first new studio release in more than six years, and features 13 all-new recordings, produced by traditional singer-songwriter Billy Yates. Music In My Heart will be released in the United States via Music City Records, and available at physical and digital retailers nationwide.

“It was fun getting back into the studio. My goal was to record the best traditional country album possible. But I also wanted someone else to handle all of the producer chores so that I could focus more on my singing,” said Pride. “Billy Yates and I started working together early last year. His self-produced albums show a strong respect for traditional country and he's a good songwriter too. Finding the right songs took a while and we both keep busy schedules, so this album took longer to finish than I'm used to. But we did find some wonderful songs and I'm very happy with how everything sounds. I hope everyone will enjoy listening to the album as much as I enjoyed making it.”

The album marks a high-level return to form for Pride. Listeners will be taken on a musical journey that runs the gamut of traditional country and features songs by such acclaimed writers as Whisperin’ Bill Anderson, Tommy Collins, “Country” Johnny Mathis and Yates. One particularly poignant moment takes place as Charley reminisces about a year he actually lived through as a young man during “The Way It Was In ‘51” while simultaneously being able to pay tribute to his late friend, the great Merle Haggard. Another key moment occurs during Pride’s powerful performance of “Standing In My Way,” a song about the meditations of a deeply flawed man. Longtime fans will also be thrilled to know that a new Ben Peters ("Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’") song appears in the album's repertoire with “Natural Feeling For You.”

Working on the Music In My Heart album has also clearly reignited Pride’s inner muse. "The other good news for my fans is that they probably won't have to wait quite as long for the next album” says Pride. “We've actually been working on a second project at the same time, which I hope to release sometime next year."

Pride, a three-time GRAMMY® award winner kicked off the year with another career-defining moment, when it was announced that he would be recognized with a 2017 “Lifetime Achievement Award.” The country pioneer will accept the award this summer as part of The Recording Academy’s Special Merit Awards, held in New York City. The award comes after Pride’s recent celebration of his 50th year in country music.

Fans can also catch the Grand Ole Opry member on the road this summer supporting the new album. In addition to playing some of his biggest hits like “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” and “Is Anybody Going to San Antone,” concertgoers will also get a first-listen to some of the new recordings from the upcoming project. The tour will travel throughout North America, including six stops in Canada, and will cross the Atlantic for both dates of the Harvest Country Music Festival in Ireland.

NATIONAL MUSIC COUNCIL TO HONOR CRYSTAL GAYLE, PATTI SMITH AND HARRY SHEARER WITH AMERICAN EAGLE AWARDS AT SUMMER NAMM SHOW

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 26, 2017) – The National Music Council has announced that Grammy® winning songstress Crystal Gayle, singer, songwriter and poet Patti Smith, and comic, actor, writer, musician and creators' rights activist Harry Shearer will be honored at the organization’s 34th annual American Eagle Awards on Thursday, July 13 at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville. The highly prestigious Awards are presented each year in recognition of long-term contribution to American musical culture and heritage, the importance of music education for all children, and the need to protect creators’ rights both locally and internationally.

"Each year, the National Music Council carefully chooses a very small group of music creators, artists, educators and advocates to honor for their truly remarkable contributions to American and global musical culture," said NMC Director David Sanders. "Those whose careers we have celebrated in the past are among the giants of American music, and Ms. Gayle, Ms. Smith and Mr. Shearer are worthy additions to the list of those whose long-standing excellence continues to make the US music community the world's leader in musical arts innovation."

Recognized as one of music’s most influential stylists, Crystal Gayle was born in Paintsville, KY and raised in nearby southern Indiana. Gayle was a teenager when she decided to follow her older sister Loretta Lynn to Nashville where she quickly charted with the hit single, “I’ve Cried (The Blue Right Out Of My Eyes).” As a true artist, Gayle followed her own career path, becoming a two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, and a crossover sensation with such hits as “Half The Way” and “Talking In Your Sleep,” becoming the first female artist in country music history to achieve platinum record sales. Earlier this year, the singer was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and celebrated the 40th anniversary of her signature hit, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.” Later this year, she will release a new album produced by her son, Am I That Easy to Forget.

Patti Smith is one of the most revered recording artists and songwriters of the past forty years, with the likes of Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Morrissey, U2, and others citing the impact of her music on their own. Born in Chicago, IL, she spent her formative years in Philadelphia before moving to New York City at the age of 21. There, she wrote several articles for Rolling Stone magazine before becoming a musical force on her own terms in the 1970s. Clive Davis signed her band, The Patti Smith Group, to Arista in 1975, and released the critically acclaimed album Horses, which blended punk rock and poetry. Her 1978 disc Easter contained one of her most popular titles, “Because The Night,” which she co-wrote with Bruce Springsteen. Smith spent much of the 1980s in semi-retirement, but re-emerged in 1996 with the landmark album Gone Again. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and was the subject of the documentary film, Dream Of Life (2008).

LA-born Harry Shearer has carved out a successful acting career over the years, appearing on TV series such as Saturday Night Liveand as a voice-over artist on the long-running FOX cartoon series, The Simpsons. Shearer co-wrote the film Real Life with Albert Brooks, and also wrote for Martin Mull’s successful Fernwood 2 Night. In 1984, Shearer would go on to co-create This Is Spinal Tapand star in the role of Derek Smalls alongside Michael McKean and Christopher Guest. The film, shot in twenty-five days, has become a cult classic. In 1989, he began his longest-running show business affiliation, voicing several characters on The Simpsons, including the villainous Mr. Burns and Dr. Marvin Monroe. He has also appeared in such television series as Miami Vice and Dawson’s Creek, and is an advocate for creators and artists.

As one of the highest achievements in the music industry, the three honorees will join a “who’s – who” list of past American Eagle Award recipients including cultural icons Stephen Sondheim, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Clive Davis, Van Cliburn, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, Morton Gould, Dave Brubeck, Marian Anderson, Max Roach, Lena Horne, Roy Clark, Elliott Carter, Ervin Drake, Theo Bikel, Roberta Peters, Odetta, Leonard Slatkin, Sesame Street, Hard Rock Café, and VH1’s Save the Music Foundation.

The honorees and Awards will be celebrated the evening of Thursday, July 13 at The Summer NAMM Show at Nashville’s Music City Center and open to industry members and Summer NAMM attendees. The Summer NAMM Show is the annual gathering of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and its many member companies, representing the global music products industry. The awards are presented with support from The NAMM Foundation, a non-profit which works to advance active participation in music making across the lifespan through scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs.

Tickets to the awards are available to the general public and general admission to the event is open to Summer NAMM attendees. For more information on VIP dinner and seating, schedule, location details, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities, visit www.musiccouncil.org or contact NMC Director David Sanders at sandersd@montclair.edu. NRA COUNTRY JOINS WEBSTER PUBLIC RELATIONS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2017) – Webster Public Relations announces the signing of NRA Country to its roster for publicity representation. “I am pleased to announce a partnership with NRA Country,” says the firm’s president, Kirt Webster. “Many of our artists have had long-standing relations with NRA Country, and I look forward to representing their brand and bringing information about them to the masses.”

NRA Country is a celebration of American values. Respect. Honor. Freedom. It's a bond between the best and brightest in country music and patriotic Americans. NRA Country is powered by pride, love of country, respect for our Armed Forces and our shared responsibility to protect our freedom. NRA Country celebrates these values with concerts and events benefiting military and veteran services organizations, first responders, conservation organizations, firearm safety programs and local charities making a difference in their communities. NRA Country is involved in causes that defend our values and it will empower NRA Country artists who promote these values to encourage our next generation of leaders.

NRA has enjoyed a long and fruitful association with country music. Among their partnerships with artists within the genre include “Sessions,” a TV special produced for NRATV.com with Grand Ole Opry star and outdoorsman Craig Morgan. Filmed while on tour on July 4, 2016, the special also features Third Day front man Mac Powell. For several years, the organization has chosen a “Featured Artist of the Month,” which highlights artists whose values coincide with that of NRA Country. Past artists featured include Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, Hank Williams Jr., Aaron Lewis, LOCASH and Florida Georgia Line.

NRA Country is currently putting the final touches on two different events that promote their partnership with the format – NRA’s Country Jam: Story Behind The Song will take place at the NRA’s annual meeting on Friday, April 28 in Atlanta. Singer-songwriters that will be participating include Chris Janson (“Buy Me A Boat”), Josh Thompson (“Way Out Here”), Lindsay Ell (“Worth The Wait”), and songwriter Cary Barlowe (Lady Antebellum’s “American Honey”). The next evening, the legendary Hank Williams Jr. and Lee Brice will headline the big Saturday night celebration concert. For ticket information, visit www.NRAAM.org.

BRENDA LEE JOINS WEBSTER PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR EXCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION Country Music Hall of Famer Restructures Team; Adds Additional Tour Dates

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 11, 2017)
 – Kirt Webster, President of Webster Public Relations, announces the signing of iconic entertainer Brenda Lee for exclusive public relations/publicity representation. Lee is restructuring her team as she joins the Webster PR roster, names Janet Wilcox as Manager of Brenda Lee Productions and continues booking representation with Stan Barnett at CAA.

“We’ve got some big plans in the works!” exclaims “Little Miss Dynamite” Brenda Lee. “We’ve got so much momentum going on and I wanted to sign with Kirt and his team exclusively to stay on top of all of our exciting projects. Our team at Brenda Lee Productions will be headed by my longtime assistant Janet Wilcox. We're all excited about the opportunity to work with Webster PR,” Lee said.

In May, Lee will return to the Grand Ole Opry as the Country Classic Spotlight Artist as she continues adding tour dates.

Last December, Lee dashed to the top of the charts with “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree” to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs and hit the top forty on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since 1961. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” also topped Billboard Holiday Airplay at No. 1.

Lee has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and charted in more categories – including pop, rhythm & blues, rock, easy listening and country – than any other women in the history of recorded music. She’s been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Lee can belt out rockabilly, country and pop standards with equal conviction with the kicking, countrified upstart of “Jambalaya” and “That’s All You Gotta Do,” the pert, jaunty rocker of “Sweet Nothin’s” and “Let’s Jump the Broomstick,” the heartbroken balladeer of “I’m Sorry” and “Break It to Me Gently,” the sophisticated songstress of “I Just Want to Be Wanted” and “You Can Depend on Me,” and the country storyteller of “Big Four Poster Bed” and “Nobody Wins.”
