NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 13, 2017)
 – 50 years ago today, Dolly Parton released her first full-length album, Hello, I'm Dolly. The album, which debuted on Monument Records, contained Parton's hits "Dumb Blonde" (written by Curly Putman) and "Something Fishy" (written by Parton). Both singles reached the top twenty on the country singles charts, and the album itself reached #11 on the country albums chart.

Produced by Fred Foster, Hello, I’m Dolly caught the attention of Porter Wagoner, who ultimately invited Parton to become a member of his band and appear on his popular weekly television show. These appearances led to Parton’s rise to superstardom and she became a bonafide household name.

“I can't believe it's been 50 years since I did my first album,” Parton recalls. “What a wonderful 50 years it has been. Thanks to my Uncle Bill Owens and Fred Foster for believing in me early on. And thanks to all the fans out there...I hope to have at least another 50 years!”

The album contained Parton's versions of three songs she wrote that had already been hits for other artists: "Put it Off Until Tomorrow" (Bill Phillips), "Fuel to the Flame" (Skeeter Davis), and "I'm In No Condition" which charted by Hank Williams Jr.

The award-winning collaboration between Pentatonix and Parton happened through a partnership with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, which has enjoyed success with both acts in the past with exclusive editions of albums from each. In Parton’s case, the partnership stretches back to her 2009 Backwoods Barbie Collector's Edition project, which was followed by the release of An Evening With…Dolly and became the first Gold album-ever certified by the RIAA for Cracker Barrel Music. That relationship has continued with her latest Dolly Records / RCA Records release Pure & Simple. Released in the summer of 2016, the album – which netted Dolly her first chart-topping album since 1991 – was released in a deluxe Cracker Barrel-exclusive edition that featured live performances of her classic hits “9 To 5” and “Jolene” from the Glastonbury Festival, along with a 48-page ZinePak magazine filled with photos and interviews highlighting memorable stories from Parton. The collaboration is not part of any of the packages, however, is available for digital download here:

Daywind Songwriter, Dianne Wilkinson, Hits Milestone

Hendersonville, TN (February 9th, 2017) – Daywind Music Publishing is proud to announce that Dianne Wilkinson has reached an elite level among songwriters with the penning of her 1,000th song, entitled “Just Another Mile.” To bring the achievement full circle, the song will be recorded by the quartet who has cut more of her songs than any other, the Kingdom Heirs, on their upcoming Sonlite Records release.
Having begun her songwriting career in the 70s, Dianne has continued to create top-quality songs for over forty years, with cuts by groups such as the Cathedrals, the Hoppers, Gold City, and Karen Peck & New River, among others. Sixteen of those songs have reached the #1 position on the Singing News Radio Chart, and fifty-seven have been recorded by the Kingdom Heirs, including the hits “The Borrowed Tomb,” “What We Needed,” and “Just Preach Jesus.”  Many songwriters would be content to rest on these accolades, however, Dianne praises a faithful God who consistently inspires new songs and allows her to continue doing what she loves.
Dianne Wilkinson shares, “I am overwhelmed by the blessings I have been afforded, and am so very conscious of the grace of God in my life! Many thanks to everyone involved in this milestone of mine. I see God’s handprints all over it!”
“In more than 30 years here at Sonlite Records, there has never been a combination of artist and writer like The Kingdom Heirs and Dianne Wilkinson,” adds Greg Bentley, A&R Associate at Crossroads Entertainment & Marketing. “There’s a special magic that happens when you team these two up. It’s like Dianne writes songs specifically with the group in mind. We are honored to be part of this milestone with Dianne and our friends at Daywind Music Publishing.”
“What a blessing it is when God sends encouragement to weary travelers on their journey toward Home,” offers Rick Shelton, VP of Daywind Music Publishing. “Together, Dianne Wilkinson and the Kingdom Heirs have cheered on countless saints with their songs. How fitting then, as Dianne passes this significant milestone of her 1000th song and the quartet celebrates four decades of performing in Pigeon Forge, that they would come together once again to share ‘Just Another Mile’ with the world.”
Daywind Music Publishing services an impressive roster of acclaimed songwriters including Lee Black, Matthew Browder, Jason Clark, Jason Cox, Janice Crow, Aaron and Amanda Crabb, Adam Crabb, Gerald Crabb, Chris Cron, Ricky Free, Marty Funderburk, Karen Peck Gooch, Joseph Habedank, Tim Lovelace, Devin McGlamery, Kyla Rowland, John Darin Rowsey, Brandon Sharp, Belinda Smith, Sue C. "American Pie" Singer Commemorates Historic Day By Re-Issuing Remastered Vinyl Hit Record, Auctioning Handwritten Lyrics

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 3, 2017) – On February 3, 1959, a chartered aircraft crashed in Mason City, Iowa just minutes after takeoff claiming the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. Richardson – “The Big Bopper” – and the pilot, Roger Peterson.

The fateful day was coined “The Day The Music Died” by Don McLean in his hit “American Pie.” The song was released in 1971 and spent four weeks at No. 1 in 1972. In 2001, thirty years later, the Recording Industry of America named the it the fifth greatest song of the 20th century.

“Buddy Holly was only 22 years old when he died on February 3, 1959. By that time he had recorded something like 60 sides and everyone of them was a hit song and most were hit records. Even the Beatles can not compare to the magnitude of this contribution. The music he made, he invented himself with very little help from others,” said Don McLean.

McLean recently re-released “American Pie” in celebration of its 45th anniversary. Music lovers can now hear his classic songs on their original vinyl format. The single has been newly remastered from analog tape by Robert Vosgien and the lacquers cut by Ron McMaster, both at Capitol Studios in Hollywood.

As the anniversary of the tragic plane crash approaches, McLean has not forgotten the day that inspired his magnum opus. One of McLean’s four handwritten copies of the lyrics to “American Pie” was auctioned by Nate D. Sanders Auctions on January 26, 2017 with the bidding starting at $100,000. It is the second copy to be offered to the public. The first was sold in 2015. The Harvard University Library has a copy, and the final copy is said to have been given to a close friend of McLean. The lyrics are on eight pages of McLean’s personal stationery in blue ink, featuring the American Pie album art of the gold thumbs up and his signature.

Also in remembrance of the lives lost in the accident, The Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas will have a day-long schedule of events commemorating the anniversary. Events will include free admission to the Buddy Holly Gallery, J.I. Allison House and the First Friday Art Trail. For more information and a complete schedule of events, visit and go to the Special Events section.
