Two New Projects Available Today From Award-Winning Group, The Nelons

Hendersonville, TN (August 12th, 2016) – Daywind recording artists, The Nelons, are excited to announce the release of Stronger Together andFamily Harmony, both available today!

After nearly two years of writing, song-selection and recording, the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame members were faced with the challenge of selecting which of the eighteen recorded songs would make it onto their newest album.  The Nelons felt strongly that each song held an incredible potential to minister to and encourage listeners, so instead of narrowing down the selection, the idea of jointly releasing Stronger Togetherand Family Harmony was born.

With a long list of world-class songwriters gracing the credits, it’s not difficult to see why eliminating songs from the track listing would be near impossible.  An accomplished songwriter in his own right, Jason Clark was honored to co-write with such legendary writers as Dony and Reba (Rambo) McGuire, and Dawn Thomas, in addition to the contributions Songwriters of the Century, Bill and Gloria Gaither, made to the project. Paired with the incomparable orchestrations and musicianship of hall of famers such as Brent Mason, Gordon Mote and David Huntsinger, among others, Stronger Together andFamily Harmony are both exceptional projects that the Nelons are eager to present to their long-time fans, and new listeners alike.

Two very special guests, Bill Gaither and Karen Peck Gooch, joined the Nelons in the studio to offer their talents to these collections of songs.  Karen and Kelly Nelon Clark reminisce on their time singing together with Kelly’s father, Rex Nelon, with a sentimental song entitled ‘You Can’t Make Old Friends’ while Bill Gaither joins the family-group on ‘Suppertime.’ The Nelons also put their special touch on a few familiar classics such as ‘We Shall Behold Him,’ ‘I Think I’ll Read It Again,’ and ‘Then Came The Morning.’
The first single from the pair of projects, ‘I Just Can’t Make It By Myself’ is featured on Family Harmony. The song climbed the Singing News Radio Charts earlier this Spring, and has been a crowd favorite with audiences across the country.  The current radio single, ‘My Father’s House,’ from Stronger Together, was released to radio in July and its smooth tones and tight harmony are already resonating with listeners.
Family Harmony and Stronger Togetherare available at Christian retail stores across the country and digitally at iTunes and other online outlets.  Bulk purchasing for gift and ministry purposes is available by calling 1.800.635.9581.

Fried Chicken and ‘Old Time Religion’—Opry Vet Tim Atwood Debuts Album with Picnic and Concert, August 14

Several Grand Ole Opry veteran performers join Tim Atwood on his new album, "That Old Time Religion." Left to right: Jeannie Seely, Jan Howard, TG Sheppard, Kelly Lang and Tim Atwood.

(HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.) - Pianist Tim Atwood grew up performing in small country churches, so what better way to celebrate his new album “That Old Time Religion” than with an old-fashioned church picnic? The free event will be take place on Sunday, August 14, at the Rockland Recreation Area in Hendersonville, Tennessee, beginning at noon.

“I spent most of my life playing piano for country music’s elite on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, but I grew up playing gospel music in little country churches,” said Atwood, who was named Instrumentalist of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists (AWA) in 2016. “I know what talent I have is a gift from God. ‘That Old Time Religion’ is my gift back to God.”
“That Old Time Religion” is Atwood’s first gospel release since he left the Grand Ole Opry in 2014, after playing piano with the house band for 38 years. The album consists of 13 tracks featuring Atwood on lead vocals and piano, with guest appearances by several of his Opry friends: Country Music Hall of Famer Bobby Bare, Jan Howard, TG Sheppard, Kelly Lang, The Tennessee River Boys, and Grammy-winner Jeannie Seely.
“This music takes me back to a little Methodist church in Pennsylvania where I grew up,” said Seely, who performs on the album’s title track. “This music is real. The love we have for God and each other is real. That’s what it’s all about.”
Atwood also allows the musicians to shine on the album, with Musicians Hall of Fame member Jimmy Capps and two members of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, Tommy White and Doug Jernigan. Meanwhile, vocal powerhouse Mandy Barnett joins Atwood on the classic song “Let’s All Go Down to the River,” which is being released to inspiration country radio as a single this month.
Barnett first met Atwood when she was 12, and he invited the burgeoning country singer to share the stage with him. The two artists later rekindled their friendship at the Grand Ole Opry, where Atwood spent years accompanying a virtual “who’s who” in country music, including Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Little Jimmy Dickens, Carrie Underwood, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and many more.
Tim Atwood’s “That Old Time Religion” album release dinner-on-the-grounds and concert will take place on Sunday, August 14, from noon until 3:30 p.m. at the Rockland Recreation Area, 5 Power Plant Road, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075. (Follow the signs to Shelter 2A.) The lunch menu will include fried chicken and covered dishes. Lunch will be served at 1:15, to be followed by a concert at 2:00. Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring a covered dish to share, but it is not required.
Tim Atwood is represented by Monarch Talent Management (MTM) in Nashville. More information is available at “That Old Time Religion” is available and on CD Baby.
