T.G. Sheppard and Kelly Lang's Home In Closer Magazine Feature

The August 31, 2015 issue of Closer Magazine, features the home of Country Music artists T.G. Sheppard and wife Kelly Lang! The issue has beautiful shots of both interior and exterior of the power couples' home and photos of artists and celebrities T.G. Has worked with over his illustrious career.

These are two of the most talented people in Nashville! Wish I could get to know them even more. We ran into each other at the opening of The George Jones Museum earlier this year.

Atlanta's Real Housewives Season 8 Post Nene Era Beginith

Real Housewives of Atlanta, post Nene Leakes, has producers busy if the rumor mill is true!

TMZ, has reported that Amiyah Scott, a transgender model is joining the cast. To me this seems like a jump on the band wagon type of desperation. Who knows? Maybe it will add to the show but we will have to see.

The great news, if true, is that former Housewife, Sheree Whitfield, is rejoining the cast. Sheree, offered all kinds of drama, style and quips! Nene, made it clear she will never work with her again, so I don't see a comeback for Nene, to the show soon.

Marlo Hampton, is back with the Georgia peaches as a "friend" role. Why don't they give Marlo, the peach already! She's more fun, stylish and drama filled than any if the cast, past or present!

Looking forward to Season 8!

Hank Williams, Jr. Hits a The Road

Hank Williams, Jr. Is hitting the road and keeping the family tradition alive and well.

I hope one day that somewhere in Nashville a Hank Williams Family museum opens with all the family exhibited. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum had a great seasonal exhibit once, imagine a completely dedicated Family a Tradition museum!

I've met Hank a couple times and he was always a nice man. He was such a southern gentlemen to Dottie Rambo, when I managed her!

Here's Bocephus' tour dates below...

Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Songwriters????? Really?????

Rolling Stone Magazine, I think tries to be many things to many people and shoots themselves in the foot a lot. I'm not even going to try to dissect any of it.

Here's a great case and point! Rolling Stone released it's 100 greatest songwriters. If these are the 100 greatest songwriters then music sure couldn't say many great songs were written! Some of the list goes without question but some have no reason to be on the list.

Take a look and see who you'd add...

Remembering Dom Deluise

We've lost a lot of great stars over the years. This is a treasured keepsake of mine, Mr Dom Deluise. I got to see him perform his live show once at Dollywood. He, Phyllis Diller and The Legends Celebrity Impersonators from Vegas did a series of benefit concerts for The Dollywood Foundation.

Did you know that Dom, made nine movies with Burt Reynolds? They were a great team.

Jennifer Nettles, Ricky Schroeder, Gerald a McRaney to star in NBC's Dolly Parton Film

Dolly Parton, recently surprised Alyvia Lind, on the Today Show, when she revealed that the child actor would portray her in the new NBC movie, Coat of Many Colors.

More casting news
••Jennifer Nettles- Dolly's mother, Avie Lee Parton
••Ricky Shroeder- Dolly's father, Lee Parton
••Gerald McRaney- Dolly's Grandfather, Rev Jake Owens

The Coat of Many Colors, will air on NBC, this Christmas season. I'm impressed with the actors chosen and hope NBC, will utilize these names to promote the film in addition to Dolly herself! Let's hope these famous faces will also appear on other networks besides those in the NBC family so that coverage is widespread! This film deserves to do well.

Dolly has hinted the future NBC movies based on her songs Jolene and The Seeker could be in the works. I'd personally love see The Seeker. I'd really like to see Dolly appear in these films! One film (based on Dolly's songs) that I've heard most all Dolly's fans hope for is These Old Bones! We'd live to see Doly come out of character and play the old lady from the song as she wanted to do in the music video that was never made.

Which Dolly song would you like to see Dolly and NBC choose next or in the future?

Charlie Daniels's Volunteer Jam Raises Major Funds, Brings Surprise Guests

Charlie Daniels's Volunteer Jam, drew a sold out crowd to the Bridgestone Arena, in Nashville, last night. The event was mc'd by Fox News TV host, Sean Hannity, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity, specifically The Journey Home Project, which helps pair veterans with the correct medical services for their needs.

Surprise guests like Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke and Lynyrd Skynyrd, brought the crowd to their feet in ovation in ways that only patriotic, country fans can!

Other acts on the bill were; The Charlie Daniels Band, Ted Nugent, Trace Adkins, Alabama, Terri Clark, Billy Ray Cyrus, Colt Ford, The Grascals, Lee Greenwood, The Kentucky Headhunters, Tracy Lawrence, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ryan Weaver, Wynonna, Craig Morgan, Lee Roy Parnell, Billy Dean, Michael W. Smith, Travis Tritt, Phil Vassar and Montgomery Gentry.

Mr Nashville note---Charlie Daniels is a major philanthropist, this often goes unnoticed. His work in Wilson County, TN is endless as is his work in honor of our troops.

Speaking of his huge arena event....can you imagine if Dolly Parton had an event like this? The celebrities she could bring out would cross Hollywood and Music boundaries alike and if filmed would be a ratings success!

The Oak Ridge Boys Honored For Their Work With The American Legion

The Oak Ridge Boys, have always shown their patriotism through their musical career. I, actually had the pleasure of passing an Oak or two, in and out of the studio for one of their patriotic recordings. It's not an act for these fellas either, they walk in faith and love their country.

With a career that has earned the boys nearly every award the industry offers, including inductions into both The Country Music Hall of Fame and Gospel Music Hall Of Fame, they're only seeing more accolades. Duane, William Lee, Richard and Joe were honored with The Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society – recognizing their work with The American Legion. The group accepted the award on August 8 at the Nashville Salutes Gala surrounded by 25 Medal of Honor recipients.

Good job guys! Keep singing and believing the truth that exists in the heart of most America! You bring light into darkened hearts!

Lee Greenwood Opens House For NBC

God Bless The USA and God Bless Lee Greenwood! Greenwood, is one of the industry's premiere singer/songwriters and his entertainment style crosses Country Music barriers.

Greenwood and his beautiful wife Kim, a former Miss Tennessee, give fans a look inside their beautiful Franklin, TN estate, on NBC's Open House. Check listings August 13-14 for times in your area.

"I think our home reflects our family – we definitely live in every room of our house and love when our kids and all of their friends are here with us,” said Kim Greenwood.

The six-bedroom three-story oasis features a large eat-in kitchen with stunning cream cabinetry, granite and vaulted ceilings, as well as a breathtaking three story marble foyer framed by a swooping staircase and dramatic chandelier. Having purchased the home from a famed Nashville producer, the Greenwood couple re-designed much of the interior themselves, bringing in many design elements meaningful to their family and putting in a backyard deck and pool area that from an aerial view displays a red, white and blue “U.S.A.” across the bottom of the custom pool.

Check your local listings for NBC’s “Open House,” airing on WNBC (New York), KNBC (Los Angeles), WMAQ (Chicago), WCAU (Philadelphia), KXAS (Dallas), KNTV (San Francisco), WRC (Washington, D.C.), WTVJ (Miami), KNSD (San Diego), WVIT (Hartford) and NECN (Boston) and syndicated wide to all NBC affiliates across the nation beginning in October.

I produced an album that Lee, recorded a song for. This man is a vocal powerhouse and can out sing most men in Nashville today. Anything Lee Greenwood, sets his mind to, he'll accomplish it and I'm proud to have worked with him!

58 Years Ago Today Little Richard Made His Pop Chart Debut

Rock and Roll history, was made 58 years ago today (Aug 5, 1957), when Little Richard's debut album, Here's Little Richard, debuted on the "Best Selling Pop Albums Chart"! It was beginning of a career that revolutionized Rock and Roll!

Little Richard, went on to write and sing major hit songs that have impacted the world of music. All the great Rock Legends and Pioneers, have stated Little Richard was an influence. Many Legends, worked for Richard, at one time. Jimi Hendrix, Billy Preston and James Brown, are among those who worked in the Georgia Peach's show. Many don't realize that Richard, was the first major international touring Rock Star!

Read more about the album that brought the first King of Rock and Roll, to the forefront!

http://www.udiscovermusic.com/little-richards-album-debut

I've had the pleasure to work with and call Little Richard, my friend! I'll always be a fan and he'll always be the King of Rock, in my eyes.

The first time I saw Little Richard, perform was a special 1950's concert that he did with Chubby Checker and Dolly Parton. The room was rocking, rolling, moving and shouting. Truly the most fun I've ever had a concert. I had only came to see Dolly and thought I wouldn't enjoy anything else but Checker's The Twist! Boy...was I wrong!

Little did I know I would one day have the chance to record a song with him, as well as get to know what a deep spiritual, Christian man he is!

Shirley MacLaine Makes Herself At Home While Performing In Mashville

Shirley MacLaine, has managed to keep an A list career for longer than some of her biggest costars have been alive. According to Leonard Maltin, she's the last of the contract players of the golden era still getting lead roles. Maclaine's next film, Wild Oats, costars Jessica Lange.

While in Nashville, performing at the Schermerhorn Center, last week, she made time to greet with fans for quick autographs and photos. Too bad she didn't stay a few extra days to see her Steel Magnolias' costar, Dolly Parton, in concert at the Ryman.

Though Shirley, didn't see the Queen of Country, she did see one of it's Princesses, Ms Reba McEntire!

Bobbi Kristina's Funeral, Aunts But Heads

Bobby Brown's sister, Leolah Brown, was allegedly kicked out of Bobbi Kristina's funeral today, because she screamed at Whitney's sister-in-law/executrix of her estate, Pat Houston, during the funeral. Leolah, was upset because in lieu of flowers, Pat, requested money for her charity. Ive always felt Pat Houston, was an opportunist and I could see this being upsetting.

Bobby Brown entering the church for his daughter, Bobbi Kristina's funeral.

Nick Gordon and reportedly Bobby, are on suicide watch. Bobby's wife, Alicia Etheridge, was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a seizure. She gave birth to her child with Bobby, three weeks ago.
After the service Bobbi Kristina's body will be taken to New Jersey and laid to rest by her mother, Whitney.

Please remember this family in prayer. When praying speak a special prayer over Bobbi Kristina's grandmother, Cissy Houston. Cissy is the matriarch of the family and now has lost her daughter and granddaughter.

Lynn Anderson Funeral Arrangements, Friends/Stars Remember

Lynn Anderson's funeral services will be held at Woodlawn, Wednesday at 11:00 am -12:30 pm.

Stars remember Lynn:

"It is so sad to hear that Lynn Anderson passed away today. Not only was she a country music superstar, but she was a gracious and caring person when she accompanied me on vocals on my country album Still a Troublemaker, and added so much verve and fire to it. You only needed to hear a couple notes of Lynn's unmistakable voice to know that what she was singing was honest, authentic, and real country. There will be sweet music in heaven tonight. Sleep well, dear Lynn, and flights of angels sing you to your rest." Mamie Van Doren

“I was shocked and heartbroken today in learning of Lynn’s passing –and am praying God’s peace and love for Casey, Lisa and the entire family. I’m reminded of a lyric from “Rose Garden”…Along with the sunshine, there’s got to be a little rain sometime. For all of us in the creative musical family in Nashville that loved her—as well as a world of Lynn’s fans around the world—this is that rainy day.” - Brenda Lee

"Lynn is blooming on God's Rose Garden now.  We will miss her and remember her fondly. May she rest in peace." - Dolly Parton

"I am extremely surprised and saddened by the news of Lynn Anderson's passing. She and I had so much fun over the years teasing people and telling them we were brother and sister or sometimes even man and wife when they would ask. I could always get a rise out of her when I would say, 'Actually, Lynn is my mother!' Trust me, she always had a sharp comeback! Rest in peace my talented and special 'kin.' Love you always." - Bill Anderson

"I'm extremely saddened to hear of the passing of the great Lynn Anderson. She was not only a legendary country music artist, but she was a very sweet lady. She was extremely nice to me and always a pleasure to talk with. She will be missed by fans and all who knew her!" - Travis Tritt

"We lost a sweet friend today. RIP Lynn Anderson. Now you have a heavenly rose garden" - The Martins

"An international star who never abandoned her country roots or love for Nashville, Lynn Anderson was among the first women in country music to find a home on pop radio. How appropriate it is that her last album, a venture into the world of gospel is titled 'Bridges'. She will be missed by her many friends and fans. My condolences to her family, including her partner of 45 years, my brother, song writer Mentor Williams." - Paul Williams

Pure and Simple! Dolly Delights with Set List

(Dolly takes the stage at The Ryman Auditorium. Please excuse poor quality of photos. Camera phone shots)

Dolly Parton, looked and sounded amazing, raised thousands for charity and performed where she and so many others got their career start, The Ryman Auditorium. There's something about the Ryman that's majestic!

Only complaints were the heat! It was very hot and at best warm. That many people jammed together on church pews/benches leaves a lot to be desired. The smell of alcohol, cigarettes and body odor could not detour the joy that Dolly brings to a show. A few times I wanted to smack people who disrespectfully talk during the ballads, gospel and sweeter songs. Younger people have a lack of respect.
