In other related Georgia Music Hall of Fame News:
(Dr. Bobbie Bailey accepting her Georgia Music Hall of Fame Honor)

Prayers and positive thoughts go out to the family of Dr. Bobbie Bailey, one if the founders of The Georgia Music Hall of Fame and a past Inductee herself. Bailey died on July 25, she was 87.

I had the honor of working with Dr. Bailey, when Dottie Rambo, was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame (2008). Dottie, was killed on her tour bus in a crash on May 11 (2008). Dr. Bailey asked that I accept the honor on her behalf. That year Dottie's granddaughter Destony and myself accepted the honor posthumously for beloved Dottie!  Linda Davis, performed a beautiful rendition of I Will Glory In The Cross, on piano.

Dr. Bailey personally flew me and my ex into Atlanta, as she didn't want me to drive with my injuries (I was in the same bus crash As Ms Dottie) and arranged first class accommodations of hotels and transportation.

Thank you Dr Bailey for your love of music and kindness to me. Most of all thank you for making Dottie Rambo, a member of The Georgia Music Hall If Fame! You'll be missed!

Wouldn't it be great to see a museum for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame erected in Atlanta, in Dr Bailey's memory? For years the Hall, had a home in Macon but during the economy collapse it closed. Atlanta seems more suited for such a venue and let's hope it happens one day!

I do hope the Hall of Fame will expand it's vision enough to find those in the gospel music field from Georgia like Naomi Sego, Dottie Peoples, The Nelons, Rex Nelon and many others.

Mamie Van Doren Statement on Lynn Anderson's Death

My friend, Hollywood Legend, Mamie Van Doren, remembers Country Music Legend, Lynn Anderson stating the following to

"It is so sad to hear that Lynn Anderson passed away today. Not only was she a country music superstar, but she was a gracious and caring person when she accompanied me on vocals on my country album Still a Troublemaker, and added so much verve and fire to it. You only needed to hear a couple notes of Lynn's unmistakable voice to know that what she was singing was honest, authentic, and real country. There will be sweet music in heaven tonight. Sleep well, dear Lynn, and flights of angels sing you to your rest."

Lynn Anderson Beloved Singer, Entertainer and Friend Has Died at 67

It's with the greatest sorrow that I report that my friend, Country Music Legend, Lynn Anderson, passed away today. She was 67 years old.

The Tennessean has a report at the link below and I will post a tribute to my friend in addition to further details.

I will miss you friend! So glad I was able to be with you just a few months ago and hug you one last time.

Ry Cooder, Ricky Skaggs and Cheryl White's concert tour continues to amaze audiences and media around the country. The trio is backed by an accomplished band with Buck White on piano, Joachim Cooder on drums, Mark Fain on bass and occasional guest appearances of Cheryl White!

I personally don't know Ry, but I can tell you Ricky Skaggs, Sharon and The Whites are the finest people you'll meet in the music business. I've been fortunate enough to work with them in the studio and witness Ricky in his element. Perfection is hard to achieve but Ricky, settles for nothing less! Sharon, is an angel who hides her wings under her clothes, one of the kindest, sweetest ladies you'll ever meet. The Whites, as a whole are a family full of integrity, faith and beautiful blood harmony.

When Ry Cooder, picks up a guitar every picker in the room wants to set their axe down. Cooder, mixes country, blues, Tex Mex and various styles he's learned through the years.

Dolly Expands Empire With Dream More Resort

Dolly Parton, cut the ribbon for opening day at Dollywood 30 years ago. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since the legendary performer's dreams of her own theme park were realized. All these years later the 150 acre park is Tennessee's #1 most visited ticketed attraction.

Since opening Dollywood, Dolly has realized other family entertainment dreams such as The Dixie Stampede Dinner Theater (located in Pigeon Forge and Branson, MO), The Pirate's Voyage (Myrtle Beach, SC) and she most recently acquired a competing Pigeon Forge dinner theater attraction, "Lumberjack Feude", though it's not clear if the show will stay the same or change.

One of Parton's biggest Family Entertainment investments was in 2001 with Dollywood's Splash Country, a 35 acre water amusement theme park adjacent to Dollywood. The water park is one of the finest in the nation and includes slides, rides, waves, rafts and many attractions.

Today marks another momentous occasion for Dolly, as she sees a dream she's had since her initial dreams of Dollywood come true. Dollywood's Dream More Resort Hotel, with rocking chairs, bon fires, shopping, spa, and restaurants. Guests can choose from over 300 rooms and speciality suites, a Dolly Parton suite that is being billed as where she'll stay when at Dollywood also has been created. The resort will create an addition of 2,000 jobs for Pigeon Forge.

Macon Film Festival Most Impressive

As a kid I used to visit my Aunt in Macon, GA, but I rarely ventured out into the city. Who knew how deep the history ran or the eclectic group of people that make up the city of Macon? As a child, I could've cared less. I was too busy enjoying time with my family and riding go carts! My trip to The 2015 Macon Film Festival was much different: my family had long since moved away, and I digested all the rich history and culture that make the town so great!

Research tells me that Macon is home to over 5,500 sites of Historic National Registered places in 11 historic districts. Macon has its own film commission that has helped land the city on the big screen in movies like 42, Fast and Furious 5, and Need For Speed.

The musical history of Macon goes without saying! My friend and music hero, Little Richard, the King of Rock and Roll before Elvis, was born there. While washing dishes at a Greyhound Bus Station, Little Richard Penniman came up with much of the Rock and Roll classic "Tutti Fruiti"! Today, you'll find that the Greyhound Station stands, but is now the city's visiting center.

Otis Redding, another Macon native. idolized Little Richard and followed his dreams toward stardom as a prolific singer/songwriter. You'll find a beautiful courtyard area devoted to the legendary performer with a statue.

Sadly, there isn't a statue of Little Richard, who truly put Macon on the map in terms of music. Plans are underway to restore and turn Richard's childhood home into a historic site and recreation center. I personally think a statue should be erected in his honor and hope to see it in Richard's lifetime. For years this founding father of Rock has long been overshadowed when it's time for awards. Hello Kennedy Center Honors? Are you there?!

Southern Rock's Allman Brothers are among other legendary music forces from Macon. Fans flock to the Allman Brother's Big House Museum and Duane Allman's gravesite in Rose Hill Cemetery. This cemetery is beautiful with elegant headstones much like those from the film Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil. Make no mistake, it's Duane's gravesite that draws much attention. While there I met one of his fans who offered to let me come home with her, shower and give me a "free" erotic massage. I didn't take her up on the offer, but talk about southern hospitality!

Much of the town screams southern elegance from the 1950's. Architecture of churches and large plantation style mansions are breathtaking. This town is the perfect place for film making, so it's no surprise that a film festival has done so well in the city for 10 years.

(St Joseph Catholic Church is adjacent to First Baptist Church of Christ, similar architecture)

Ten years as an annual event is not something taken lightly by the Macon Film Festival, so they pulled more than a rabbit out of their hat, their guest of honor was none other than Burt Reynolds. (Coverage of Burt's festival to come in a separate post).

Festival President, Julie Wilkerson, told Macon's Telegraph that “(Reynolds) was our first choice to get for our 10th anniversary, 'Deliverance’ was the first special screening we did because it’s a great Georgia-based film. Ten years later, the film industry has grown and become a big economic booster. For our 10th year, we wanted to honor the Georgia film industry and pay homage... It was the perfect storm because he was filming in Georgia before it was the thing to do, and he has ties to Macon. We’re real excited that he wanted to come.”

In addition to Deliverance, the festival held a special screening of Burt's Sharkie's Machinubne, a film he directed in Atlanta.

Other incredible films shown at this year's festival were major documentaries. Mavis!, about the life of gospel and soul legend Mavis Staples, Live From New York a historic look into the history of Saturday Night Live, and my particular favorite, How Sweet The Sound: Blind Boys of Alabama, the story of this iconic Gospel group that touched the nerve of rock, soul and popular music.

Independent movies like the western period production "Slow West" was another festival highlight and a reminder that you don't need buildings exploding to have a great film.

Terrell Sandefur, media relations director of the Macon Film Fest made sure all those covering the festival had excellent hospitality, and I look forward to covering the festival in the future. Priscilla Esser, plans after parties and other social events around the festival and the rich atmosphere and southern charm of Macon make this a "must do" for movie, music and pop culture buffs all over!

Look for our coverage of Burt Reynolds parents at The Macon Film Festival soon! For further information about the Macon Film Festival visit:

Tanya Tucker To Sing National Anthem For Bojangles' 500 Live On NBC

Tanya Tucker, will sing the National Anthem for the Bojangles' Southern 500 on September 6. NBC will air the program live.

“We are excited to have country music icon Tanya Tucker perform our National Anthem for the Bojangles’ Southern 500,” track President Chip Wile said. “Tanya Tucker has been a mainstay in Nashville since the early 1970’s. Her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner will be a can’t-miss for our great race fans.”

Let's hope the Country Music Hall of Fame execs are watching! If anyone is deserving of being inducted into the prestigious Hall, it's Tucker! Long before Reba, Garth, Vince and many other incredible artists, Tanya, was one of Country's hottest tickets! Many have called her the Madonna of Country Music! Most of us just call her Mother Tucker!

Tanya, has a forthcoming album and major things in the works. Recently she aligned herself with CTK Management's Danny Nozell, manager of Dolly Parton.

Something tells me Tanya's going to show Miranda and these other gals how it's done!

The Houston family, made the following statement:

RIP Country Star Daron Norwood

Sad to report that Country Singer Daron Norwood, was found dead Wednesday afternoon in his Hereford, Tx apartment. The 49 year old singer's body was found by his landlord and no foul play is suspected.

Norwood, had a 1994 self-titled album, "Daron Norwood." His 1995 album was, "Ready, Willing and Able." Norwood's hits include "If It Wasn't For Her I Wouldn't Have You," and "Cowboys Don't Cry."

Taylor Swift and Minaj Patch Things Up Despite Katy Perry's Interference

Well... From tiss tiss to kiss kiss and make up! Little girls everywhere are rejoicing that Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj have made up.

No more twitter feud for the girls much to the dismay of Katy Perry, who tried to instigate the issue. Perry and Taylor have had "Bad Blood" (pun fully intended) since Perry stole part of Taylor's show performers for her show. It's really sad that Perry, a minister's daughter, grown woman and star, would result to schoolyard jealousy.

And I believe somewhere that Kim Kardashian West, (a/k/a KarTrashian Pest) is upset because no one is making this about her!

Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift Twitter Saga

Poor Taylor can't catch a break! First Kanye, now Nicki! My son assured me there's more than the story....what do you think?

Follow the tweeting saga!

It started with one lonely fan's tweet....
Then Minaj retweeted said tweet..Followed up by this tweet
Considering that Taylor Swift is the only slim body in the running of women it looks directed at her. After all Beyoncé is pretty thick and curvy. So Taylor took to twitter and shit back with....
Nicki came back with ....
At some point Taylor tweeted somewhat of an invitation that Nicki could come up to accept her award should she win. To me that seemed a bit goodie goodie and maybe others thought so too as the tweet has been removed.

Kim KarTrashian Pest also had a tweet alluding to her freakish husband's "I'm gonna let you finish" attack on Taylor's past interrupted win by Mr Kanye Pest!

The View weighed in on the twitter beef. All of the African Americam cast sided with Taylor, Michelle Collins with Nicki in a comedic way and Rosie Perez saying she didn't care!

I'm a Nashville boy so I have to side with Taylor! Swift, has been a great role model for women, business minds male or female, and always kind to me.

My teenage son sides with Minaj. He thinks the "slim comment" was directed at all the videos, male/female alike. What do you think? Or are you like The View's Rosie Perez and just don't care!

I say girls kiss and make up! The VMAs should ask you both to present the award together and if Taylor wins, be the better person!

🙈🙉🙊Side note: I did read through Nicki Minaj's twitter feed and was very disappointed that she made references to "white media" not taking her side and changing the focus from body image to race. With all the serious hate crimes that our country is going through right now I think it's trivial to bring race into a twitter rant. It's not black and white... It's that you made reference (at least by assumption) to the biggest " It Girl, Superstar" of the day.

(Taylor and I at the NSAI Awards a few years back)

Congratulations to Lily Tomlin!

One of the best people I know, one of the greatest comedian and actresses the world has known! Love you Lily!

Chris Young And Miranda? Nope!

Chris Young, wants it known that he hasn't "KNOWN" Miranda Lambert, in the Biblical sense. Rumors circulated through blogs after sites like radaronline posted a pretty innocent photo of the pair together. Chris, took to Facebook after the rumors persisted. Blake Shelton, is a pretty big star so I think that was wise to stay on the good side of his fans.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Quick Even Break

As sad as it is to see a couple divorce, it's nice when it can be done immediately because they had a prenuptial agreement to protect their interests. In this case, mainly Blake's as he's the bigger money making star!

Blake seems to be coping well, check out the link below to see what People Mag has him doing!
