Happy 92nd Birthday, Carol Channing!

Happy 92nd Birthday to my dear friend, Carol Channing. Had I known as a child, as I watched Carol Channing, on the Muppets, every sitcom/variety/talk/game show in existence, and movies, that one day I would know and/or would have worked with her, I would have blown a gasket. Carol Channing, is not only one of the most talented human beings that ever stepped foot on a stage, she is also one of the smartest, most disciplined human beings the world has known.

Carol Elaine Channing, was born January 31, in Seattle, Washington, but grew up in San Francisco. At two weeks of age, her father, took a job in San Francisco and was a minister in the Christian Science movement. Her father had a deep love for Gospel music, stemming from his Georgia heritage, he taught those songs to Carol, as a toddler. While passing out Christian Science monitors in the theater district, as a young child she fell in love with the stage. In an interview with blogger, Alan Mercer, she revealed that she didn't identify herself as a Christian Scientist anymore, only as a Christian.

I worked with Carol on two projects, her first gospel album, For Heaven Sake and her first patriotic CD, True To The Red, White, and Blue. Both are available in stores or at or itunes. These were projects that were very dear to Carol's heart. I was so happy that she chose me to allow her facilitate these projects, she held so dear. Surely there isn't much left on Carol's "to do" list because she's done most everything an actress can dream. Her first movie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, earned her a Gold Globe Award, and even an Oscar Nomination, for Best Supporting Actress. She originated two of the most iconic roles on Broadway, Lorelei, in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Dolly Levi, in Hello Dolly.

Channing's success in Hello Dolly was so strong that her Broadway Soundtrack of the musical, took away the number one spot from the Beatles, on the Popular Music Charts. No actress has ever been able to truly take the role of Dolly Levi, without the Carol Channing comparison.

When 20th Century Fox decided to use Barbara Streisand, in the film version, Carol was crushed. The film was a huge financial failure and nearly bankrupt the studio. The movie, like most Hollywood films, went astray from the Broadway Musical's success and core, and Streisand was felt to be young for the role. At the time Streisand, heavily lobbied for the film, but was still new to the movie world. Many times you will notice that she is doing a Mae West vocal impersonation when she speaks. Stresiand ran into West, at a party an told her of the imitation, she wasn't flattered. Mae told Barbara, that she needed to come up with her own gig and not try to impersonate others, and during the film, when she was impersonating her, she felt a caption should run across the screen, saying "Barbara Streisand as Mae West playing Dolly Levi".

The Tony's have honored Carol with 3 Tony Awards. Carol is truly to Broadway what Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline are to Country Music. If you haven't seen the documentary film, "Larger Than Life", about Carol, you must add it to your to do list, it's a beautiful inside look into one of the greatest theatrical personalities in the history of theater.

To limit Carol Channing, only to Broadway would be to limit Dolly Parton, only to the Opry, Carol is Hollywood royalty, a comedy legend, and a successful musical recording artist with 10 Gold albums.

Happy Birthday My Friend!

For years rumors have circulated that Jim Neighbors was gay. The Golmer Pile star has married his partner of 38 years in Seattle last December.

Kenny/Dolly Record New Duet, Ashley Judd Splits, Tim Stays Sober

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton Recording New Duet
Songwriter, Don Schlitz, has penned a new song that will be the latest duet recording from Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. The song, You Can't Make Old Friends, will be on Kenny's upcoming CD. Schlitz wrote Kenny's mega hit, The Gambler!
I'm sure it will never happen, but I would die for another Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers tour! Wouldn't you?

Blake Shelton Still Getting Backlash Over His Disparaging Comments Concerning Country Music!

Blake Shelton, is still on people's minds, after his disparaging remarks about traditional country music and it's artists.

On a recent Grand Ole Opry appearance, Country Music Hall Of Famer, Jean Shepard, recounted the story without giving Blake's name, but did say the singer's initials were B.S. just like his comments!

No Depression columnist wrote an incredible hysterical, yet informative article about the controversy and what they felt was a pseudo apology. Check it out here:

Blake Shleton Offered Opening Act Position for Ray Price

Ray Price, has recently accepted Blake Shelton's apology but the saga continues, and it's even more funny than ever. You may recall I posted that Ray Price, along with many Nashvillians, were upset with Blake Shelton's comments about "old farts" and the like in country music.

Now a promoter is jumping in the mix, offering Blake the opening spot for Ray's upcoming show on June 8, in the Americana Theater, of Branson, MO. Not sure if Blake will accept, but the promoter says that they base their artists's pay on experience, so they would be willing to allow him 30 mins, 6 sub sandwiches and $350.

Blake Shelton, Ray Price At Odds....

Blake Shelton is known for his hilarious rants on twitter, they're actually a guilty pleasure to most of Nashville's industry community. I like Blake, he's kinda like a cool version of Jethro from The Beverly Hillbillies. He makes you laugh, he's cool, yet he's a redneck dork.

I must admit, while normally entertained by Blake's rants, his latest didn't sit well with me, but it really rubbed Ray Price the wrong way! Before I get to Ray, here's what Shelton said that peed off most of Nashville, at least the ones who care about Country Music.

"If I am 'Male Vocalist of the Year' that must mean that I'm one of those people now that gets to decide if it moves forward and if it moves on," said the 36-year-old singer. "Country music has to evolve in order to survive. Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa's music. And I don't care how many of these old farts around Nashville going, 'My God, that ain't country!' Well that's because you don't buy records anymore, jackass. The kids do, and they don't want to buy the music you were buying."

Ray Price, immediately went to facebook to share his disdain over Blake's comments.

"It's a shame that I have spend 63 years in this business trying to introduce music to a larger audience and to make it easier for the younger artists who are coming behind me. Every now and then some young artist will record a rock and roll type song, have a hit first time out with kids only. This is why you see stars come with a few hits only and then just fade away believing they are God's answer to the world. This guy sounds like in his own mind that his head is so large no hat ever made will fit him. Stupidity Reigns Supreme!!!!!!! Ray Price (CHIEF "OLD FART" & JACKASS") " P.S. YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY AS US OLD-TIMERS. CHECK BACK IN 63 YEARS (THE YEAR 2075) AND LET US KNOW HOW YOUR NAME AND YOUR MUSIC WILL BE REMEMBERED."

First of all, how cool is it that Ray Price actually has a facebook account? How cool is it that Ray Price even knows what facebook is? Anyway, I tend to agree with Price.

What do you think about Blake's feelings?

Dottie West Stage Attire In The Country Music Hall Of Fame, Why isn't she?

Country Music Hall Of Fame's spotlight exhibit; Dottie West: Country Sunshine, was unveiled on November 9 last year and is running until May 2, 2013. It's the first time the Country Music Hall Of Fame has had an exhibit of this kind in Dottie West's honor.

Dottie West, one of the most recognized names in Country Music was tragically killed at the age of 58, in an automobile accident, on her way to the Grand Ole Opry. A singer, songwriter, and sometimes actress, Dottie West, did it all. When West occupied the stage, it was like a lightening bolt, she was an entertainer, and one who crossed over. Fans who ordinarily wouldn't buy a Country Music album welcomed Dottie West into their lives and music collection.

The exhibit showcases some of the most beautiful stage attire wore by Dottie, some created by the legendary Bob Mackie. With all the excitement over the exhibit, believe me Dottie West fans were ecstatic, hopes run through the minds of Country Music fans, that Dottie West may finally be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame. We're one step closer, Dottie's clothes are the Country Music Hall Of Fame, maybe now she will be too.

It's not my intent to take away from any of the recent inductees, but one does wonder how some recent honorees have a place in the Hall before the likes of Dottie West. Again, I have no sour grapes with some of the recent picks. I think they deserve the honor, though I think it's a little too soon. Long before the world knew who Connie Smith, Vince Gill, George Strait, Reba McEntire, and Garth Brooks were, Dottie, was an international Country Music Superstar. For her timeframe it was rare for any Country Music star, especially a female, to have the impact that Dottie West did. Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette were true superstars, nudging right into that class was Dottie West. Had her life continued there is no telling what she would be doing now. Maybe she would make a huge comeback album as Loretta did with Jack White, or Johnny Cash with Rick Rubin. One thing is for sure, her induction should have taken place years ago.

If you are unable to go to the exhibit, I highly suggest that you visit This website is the most insightful source of Dottie West history. The administrator of the website, Jared Vaughn, loaned some Dottie West stage attire from his own personal collection.

To read the full press release on the exhibit you may clink on the link below.

Real Housewives Of Nashville??? Maybe?

I know one of the production companies involved with Bravo's Real Housewives franchise was feeling out the possibility of adding Nashville to their family. It was rumored that TNA wrestler, Dixie Carter, was in the running to be one of the Nashville Housewives. I can think of several women that would make great additions to the series. I wish I were casting the show! Unsure if the casting call below is for the same series or idea, hope so. I mean Nashville, home of the three R's; Rhinestones, Religion, and Really Big Hair! Ladies of Nashville, jump on this call, lets bring it on Nashville!

Happy Birthday Dolly Parton!

Happy Birthday to Dolly Parton who was born January 19, 1946. It's been such an honor to have known Dolly, first as a fan, later as a friend in the music community. It's been my delight to work with Dolly on several occasions and produce two songs with her. Dolly is one of the most gracious, extremely gifted, and witty people I've ever met.

I could write a book on Dolly's accolades, business savvy, philanthropy, talent, gifts, and whit. The book would never end. One only hopes they can leave a small percentage of the mark that Dolly has left on the world. If anyone could coin the phrase, "I want to do it all, " Dolly could, because she has.

To pin down a word that best describes Dolly, it would have to be "bridge". Never has a personality connected so many audiences together who ordinarily would never cross paths. Long before anyone heard of Shania Twain or Taylor Swift, Dolly had took country music into the pop music world. Audiences that would never embrace country music, embraced Dolly Parton.

No other singer could pull the audience diversity that Dolly has. One day she could have duets with Gospel Music legends such as Dottie Rambo and Vestal Goodman, the next day she could be recording a dance tune with Boy George. Jamming with Bluegrass Queen, Rhonda Vincent is as normal as performing with Rockers; Bonnie Raitt and Melisa Etheridge. Bridging the gap between music audiences with quality and ease, making them feel as if that is the community in which she belonged, it's second nature to her.

As the world sits in anticipation of her next incredible project, one thing is certain, God broke the mold when she was born. Happy Birthday Dolly and I will Always Love You!

Taylor Swift, Michael J. Fox Feud Ends!

Michael J. Fox and Taylor Swift "are good," says Taylor, after a bit of a controversy that stemmed from their evening at The Golden Globes.

Fox's son Sam hosted served as Mr. Golden Globe at this year's ceremony. A representative from Vulture asked Michael if it would be pleasing to have his son on the arm of Taylor Swift.
"I don't keep up with it all, but Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right?" Fox went on, "What a way to build a career".

The Family Ties star is referring to the fact that Taylor is famous for writing post break up tunes about her exes. He did admit that he wouldn't know who Taylor was if he did see her. Taylor's fans weren't happy with the comments, feeling it was a diss. Social media was a buzz of little tween girls defending their Country Music Princess.

Today, Taylor revealed that all is well in the Swift/Fox controversy, tweeting:
"Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back."

If you read my blog or follow me on social media you already know that I'm a Swift fan. This girl knows how to build an audience better than any person who has entered Country Music.

APA Senior Vice President Steve Lassister, released a statement today that Billy Ray Cyrus and Don Williams would be returning to the roster of the talent giant's agency.

“We are thrilled to have Billy Ray Cyrus and Don Williams back into the APA family of artists and very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead,” Lassister said in a statement through publicist Kirt Webster. “It’s an honor to be representing them again and it’s always a pleasure when former clients come home.”

Don Williams is a Country Music Hall Of Fame Inductee and a legend! I or one, am excited he's making such strides to continue giving us quality traditional country music. Nothing like hearing a song that actually has meaning and not about shaking their hiney!

Lulu Roman's At Last Drops Today, Dolly Parton Got Chills Hearing I Will Always Love You

Lulu Roman's new album, At Last, drops today! I hope all of you will run out and buy a copy today. The album contains 11 newly recorded songs that are personal favorites of Lulu. The album contains covers of Etta James's At Last, The Beatles's In My Life, Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly, Tammy Wynette's Til I Can Make It On My Own, and many others.

One song getting a lot of notice from the album is her duet with Dolly Parton, I Will Always Love You. Dolly recently said:

"I have known and loved Lulu since the days of "Hee Haw". I have always known she was a great singer; but I did not know how great until she did this album. Hearing her sing my song "I Will Always Love You" gave me the chills. And being able to sing with her on it really got the goose bumps going. I am so proud of her. Hope you enjoy our version of the song."

You can purchase the album today in stores, Itunes, Amazon, or by visiting my site .

Tim McGraw Says Curb Records Hurt His Career

Tim McGraw is fed up with his former label, Curb Records! The star has been in a lengthy legal battle with the label after the label accused him of breaching his contract. As the court battle took place McGraw, was unable to release new music.

McGraw, told Billboard Magazine, "They hurt my career. I felt I was at the top of my game, and to not be able to get to the places I wanted to be... it was really hard to sit back, with me being competitive. Nothing against any other artists---I love success for anybody. I always say, 'I want everybody to do great. I just want to do better.' Just watching all the things that are going on and to have to sit on the sidelines, it's been tough."

Big Machine Records, signed Tim, the two seem to be very pleased with each other thus far. His new album, Two Lanes of Freedom, allowed him to be artistically free, he says.

Meanwhile, Curb Records will release a compilation of Tim McGraw's duets on January 22, exclusively at Walmart, just a couple weeks before the release of his new Big Machine release.

Other artists have publicly lashed out at Curb Records before. Hank Williams, Jr, LeeAnn Rimes, Jodee Messina, Lyle Lovett, Clay Walker, and others have made complaints that the label didn't make the best choices for their career. Many complain that they record music that is never released or that too many compilations are released vs new original music that they have in the can.

A webpage has even been formed that seems to be all about the artists disdain for Curb Records. If you have time and want to take a gander you can do so by going to the following link:

Mike Curb, sure has done a lot for Nashville, so he must be making money, therefore he must be making some good choices. However, I can honestly say, I've never heard more complaints against a record label, as I have against Curb Records. Friends who have recorded, written under contract etc, all have complained about the label.

Mindy McCready's Boyfriend, Dead Of Gun Shot Wound

Mindy McCready, just can't seem to get away from drama! David Wilson, a singer/songwriter, boyfriend, and father of Mindy's 9 month old son is dead.

"David was my soulmate; he was a caregiver and guiding hand to our sons, Zander and Zayne," McCready writes in a statement. "He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and he was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David, missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man."

Wilson, hid Mindy, in his Arkansas home, when McCready had taken her son, Zander, from her parent's home, who had custody of the child. Police found Mindy and Zander, hiding in a closet at Wilson's home.

Fox News, is reporting that Wilson, committed suicide from a self inflicted gun shot wound. Consequently, Mindy, had attempted suicide, splitting her wrists, and overdosing on pills in 2008. Later, Mindy, was part of the cast of Dr. Drew Pinsky's Celebrity Rehab on VH1.

Prayers go out to Mindy, her family, David Wilson's family, and all involved.

Dierk's Bentley's Dog Saved and Home Safe

Dierks Bentley, was shaken when his dog, Jake, went missing, Sunday, January 13. Our Nashville storms, scared, Jake, he jumped a fence and went on the run. Bentley, tweeted of his loss, fans went into Sherlock Holmes gear, and the next night Dierks, announced, "omg. my wife just told me someone found jake on facebook and is bringing him to our house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The hero, identified as Anna Belle, reported that Jake, ran out in traffic, was almost hit by oncoming traffic, when she saved him.

Jake, is a dog star, he's appeared in several of Dierks Bentley's videos, including, "What Was I Thinking".

Mr. Bentley, it's time to build a larger fence!

Keith, Shania, Brad, and a drunk Randy Travis Make News

Country Music, didn't get Oscar's attention this year. Dolly Parton and Keith Urban who were both Academy hopefuls for Best Song, didn't make the cut. Adele, who is nominated for the song Skyfall, from the movie of the same title, has my vote.

The Shania Twain Centre, a museum devoted to the singer in Ontario, Canada, will close it's doors, due to poor attendance. The city has sold the museum to a mining company. The singer is a resident artist at Caesar's, in Las Vegas, so we'll see how well that does long term. Personally, I don't know that the Las Vegas crowd, is her's.

Brad Paisley, will be performing for President Barack Obama's Inaugural Gala, expected to have 35,000 stargazers. Paisley, will also appear at a children's concert on January 19, in addition to the two Inaugural Balls.

Randy Travis's blood alcohol test results confirm the singer was legally drunk when he was arrested in the nude, after an automobile accident. Randy, cover up that thing next time your out, we'll never be able to listen to, Diggin' Up Bones, the same way again.

Naomi Judd Turns 67

Naomi Judd, starred in a Hallmark movie that aired tonight, Nearlyweds. That's all you really need to know about that.

Judd, turned 67 today yesterday, made some media rounds, and revealed that daughter, Ashley Judd, is unsure if she will run against Kentucky's Mitch McConnell, in the Senate race. I wonder if Naomi and Ashley actually talk???

Lulu Roman's New Album, At Last, Leads Her To The Huckabee Report and WSM Radio

Lulu Roman, is hitting the media trail hard, promoting her new musical project, At Last. This morning she made a stop at 650 WSM, for Bill Cody's morning show!

Mike Huckabee and Lulu, enjoyed a great interview as well. The two discussed her career, as well as their admiration for Dolly Parton, who makes a guest appearance on the project. The two duet on I Will Always Love You.

At Last, is Lulu's first foray into this style of music, though it's the music she was first drawn to. The album features classics like Killing Me Softly, Summertime, Get Here, Fever, Til I Can Make It On My Own, You Don't Know Me, In My Life, in addition to the title cut.

Other songs include guest appearances. You Are So Beautiful To Me, brings a bluesy T. Graham Brown, while Linda Davis, comes in for You Needed Me.

The project closes with a soulful version of Precious Lord Take My Hand, as in true Lulu Roman form.

Aresenio Hall Returning to Late Night Sept 2013

Late Night television is getting a good shaking up. Jimmy Kimmel, is being pushed up to compete with Letterman and Leno. ABC feels that Kimmel, will bring in a younger audience that Letterman and Leno, are lacking. His show starts Tuesday with guests, No Doubt and Jennifer Aniston, not who I would want for my big launch, but it's not my show.

The most exciting thing I've heard about Late Night is the return of the Arsenio Hall Show. Arsenio Hall, was  America's only choice for young people, in the days of Johnny Carson. Hall, got his original Fox series after Joan Rivers, was let go. The Arsenio Hall had a successful run, his ratings took a huge dip and he became controversial when he had Black Extremist, Louis Farrakahn, as a guest on occasion.

Arsenio's show was very multi-cultural, cross genre, fun programming. Guests like Elizabeth Taylor, Oprah, Little Richard, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Michael McDonalad, Muhammad Ali, David Bowie, and who could forget that saxophone playing, Presidential hopeful, Bill Clinton appearance. Some say that Bill Clinton's appearance on the Arsenio Hall show, is what helped him win the election.

What was really great about Arsenio, was his diversity, country music stars graced his show as well. Naturally, someone like Dolly Parton, would have made multiple appearances, but others did too. Tanya Tucker, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell. A lot of these artists with exception of Dolly, can't get on major late night shows, if they do, like Reba, they are usually short segments and/or limited to musical segments. So, if Arsenio, keeps his same formula, maybe some country crooners will have another outlet to make Nashville proud.

The first add for the Arsenio Hall Show is up and running. It's pretty fun too.

My Take On Real Housewives Of Miami Reunion 1 & 2

Anyone that knows me can attest that I'm a huge Real Housewives franchise fan. It started with my love for Nene Leakes, then came Jersey, after watching one of their Reunion specials when nothing else was on. I swore after that NO MORE! Nene and Atlanta, I'd stay faithful to you, but have occasional trysts with the Jersey girls. Slowly, came the OC, but NYC girls--never, then came DC (which I loved!), then Beverly Hills, excitingly, I gave in to Real Housewives of New York City.

I didn't catch season one of Real Housewives of Miami, but did go back and watch the entire season thanks to youtube. It's my favorite of the franchise series. I'm sorry Nene, I love you and your my favorite, legitimate housewife, but I fell in LOVE with RHOM's Mama Elsa (Patton). Mama Elsa, should be a housewife because she is more entertaining than most of the wives on the show. I genuinely would love a whole series of her. I do think that Bravo has not found the right time slot, nor it's right audience for the Miami franchise. Hopefully Bravo, will do something they are pretty skilled in, building an audience for the show. They may have a good start because the RHOM Reunion 1 & 2 were some of the best in Bravo history!

Before I go into my take on the Reunion specials, let me share some thoughts on why I think Bravo has some rethinking to do when (hopefully when and not if) they re-launch the series. I think Elaine the drag queen has to be a lesser character, her storyline took up too much space in the season. To be honest, a lot of the "hype" and "excitement" came from non-housewife characters, ala Thomas Kramer, Freda (which I loved), Alexia (who annoys me), and the Queen of the whole show Mama Elsa. If the housewives aren't interesting, then you need to rethink them, and some are a YAWN!

Ana, was a bore the entire season. Ana's daughters and sorta husband were much more entertaining than she was. From day one she was a snooze fest, she isn't very attractive either, and if the show were about middle aged women, who get along with their ex husbands, she'd make the cut. She just doesn't fit the housewife cast.

I feel really bad saying that Karen, was boring because the woman was attacked and bullied all season. Karent, was kind and sweet, but her storyline didn't do anything for the show, until the women turned on her like sharks. So, I can see keeping her around for that purpose, to create a war of the women on the show, or to see how her friendship pans out. If she plans to stay on the show, she'll have to step up her game.

I love Marysol, she's a keeper. I would like to see her interact with celeb clients and more scenes with Mama Elsa. I'm not sure if Mama Elsa, is up to doing more on the show, but if she is they need to up the footage with her. I’d like to see Marysol’s divorce finalize, then she could MARRY ME!

Joanna and Adriana, cancel themselves out as far as like-ability, but they are keepers. Leah, I loved, but she lost my respect, when she allowed Nazi real estate mogul, Thomas Krammer, belittle and demean Mama Elsa, at Karent's party. Ms. Black, is hilarious, glamorous, and lots of fun. Sadly, the feud with Marysol, was not Leah's best hour, she needs to make that situation right. In my eyes, she better never hang Elsa out to dry again.

My take on the Real Housewives Of Miami Reunion Part 1 & 2—

The Reunion, should have been a 3 part reunion, because the season had so many stories going. Sadly, we only were given two Reunion specials, but they were steaming HOT. If Bravo, wants to build an audience, they need to re-air these Reunions in every vacant spot. If the Reunions, get exposure, they will build an audience for the series.

Ana- I think she watched the season and realized she was not adding anything to the series, and was a complete yawn, so she amped up big time, for the Reunion! Ana, dialed up her sarcasm, venomous tongue, and her claws came out. Her main target, on the specials, was Leah Black. Personally, I feel that she is jealous of Leah for having everything she would like to have--money, a loving husband, and notoriety. Loyalty to Marysol, may play a part in some of her "Leah Black Attack"!

Accusations against Leah, some of which didn't make it on the air, lead to character assassinations, eventually saying Leah did her best work "on her back". I, don't think most of us watching the show feel this way about Leah Black. Ms. Ana, continued, that Leah, wasn't a self-made woman because she was from Texas and "peddled cold creams from the trunk of her car". On the other hand, Ana, was a self- made woman, because she had immigrant parents that put her through college, law school, and because she had two daughters, who were socially not awkward, and a marriage for 20 plus years???? Well, Ana, thinks so! Sorry to burst Ana's bubble, but her marriage is ending in divorce, her kids may not be socially awkward, but that's not saying much (parents-higher hopes please). Immigrant parents sending you to college, says more for them, than you, and that, would counter the "self made" comparison between you and Leah.

Ana, continued to try to dominate the entire 1 & 2 specials. Naturally, she went after Karent. The Rudalfo conspiracy thickened, with the accusation that he is gay. I, think "gay", doesn't come to mind when describing the playboy ways of Rudalfo. We have seen, how many women he has in the wings. Yikes! Ana, I know is bitter because she didn't make the cut. Bitter, seems to be the keyword with Ana.

Leah- Poor Leah, took a beat down from Ana. In the end, Leah, came out smelling like a rose. Leah, tried to, and did so effectively, remain a "lady". Don't get me wrong, Leah, deserved a good "talk down", after she let Mama Elsa, get berated by Nazi Krammer, this season. I'd say, Leah, paid her penance for the crime, with what she was subjected to in the Reunions. While Leah, didn't take what Ana, said sitting down (literally-she stood up), she combated her nemesis with class. I, would have loved to have seen Leah, pull out some of those jabs of hers.

Mama Elsa, did defend her baby girl, Marysol, and Leah, accepted that, siting she would feel the same way, if her son had been the subject of the situation. So, kudos to Leah, she wore her classy, big girl panties. She also has befriended Karent, citing that the girl's punishment of her, didn't fit the crime.

Karent- Didn't really speak up as much as I thought she should. In this group of girls, the one that shouts--err-talks loudest gets heard. Leah, Lisa, and Karen, didn't do so well with talking over the other girls. Karent, actually has some witty things to say, and if she lit a fire, she could burn the girls down. So far, she's quietly rubbing sticks together.

Marysol- Proved she wasn't taking Leah's attacks any more. Whenm Leah, stated that Ana, threw things out about people that were untrue (Rudalfo being gay), Marysol, quickly brought up Leah's "green card" comments about her marriage, to Philippe. Marysol, is the show's princess, we need more of her on the show. I, do like to see her get feisty, but you can tell, she likes peace, which makes you love her more.

Joanna and Adriana- These two had left the season as friends. I guess that didn't last long, because they were after each other the entire show. Adriana, accused Joanna, of racism for posting "light will overcome darkness". Adriana, my dear heart, that's a common saying, nothing to do with skin color. I hate it when racism is just thrown out as a character assassination. She took on Joanna's spanglish comments, using it to her advantage, she called Joanna, HO-anna, for effect.

Lisa- Revealed she didn't consider herself a feminist, she didn't mind being called a fembot, and that the only surgery her husband performed on her, were the breasts. She had great things to say, but remains calm. Her look would have you think she's really feisty and would love a cat fight, in actuality she's like a kitty. Amp it up, if you want your points heard.

Alexia- This woman needs to go home. She adds nothing to the show, her appearances are like infomercials for her magazine. One thing is certain, she didn't like Joanna’s comments, that word on the street was, she had a gay husband. She is the loudest, rudest of all the ladies. Lisa and Karent, did expose her, for her excitement in hurting Karent. She was caught in lies when she said Karent, never cared about her son's accident, admitting she did get calls and texts, that she supposedly appreciated. Ha, I bet!

I think, this woman is more annoying than Atlanta's Kim Zolziak. Her oldest son was recently arrested for video taping an assault on a homeless man. While the homeless man slept he punched him in his testicles. Alexia, made excuses for her son and said it was just him acting out, because he had all this bottled up anger, over his brother's accident. B. S.---own it, your son is a punk! He gets the bully mentality from you.

Mama Elsa- Amazing, but not featured long enough on the reunion! Mama, let Joanna, know that she was a "good friend but a very bad enemy", for calling her a prostitute, they did clear up that Joanna, actually called her the devil, not a prostitute. Joanna, was drunk, when she made the comment, and was livid, because her Pet- friendly mind, didn't like, Marysol, wearing a fur. Karent, at one point  was going to make a comment, and Mama quickly stated, "I'm not talking to you, number three", her seated position.

We also found out that, Mama Elsa, was a spiritual adviser to Madonna, and, Thomas Krammer, hasn't apologized, but, has asked her to go out with him to events, she has no desire to speak to him (thank God). Elsa, shared about her plastic surgery and that she felt she didn't have good luck with surgeons. When Andy asked, if she was a spiritual healer, or physic, Elsa, said that the company, amongst them, wasn't spiritual enough to understand, so she would rather not discuss it.

Andy Cohen- I, don't think I would call Andy, an effective moderator, on these Reunions. He's hilarious, fun, and always great on the Reunions about calling out "below the belt" attacks, this time he didn't. Andy, let Ana's crusade go on the entire show, it was annoying after a while. He, defended her, when Leah, stated that, Ana, made gratuitous barbs, pointing out that, she too, loved gratuitous barb. I think, Leah's jabs, are always "outright" comedic jabs, Ana, on the other hand, was going for blood. Andy, I feel, should have stepped in and called Ana, out, and also should have had a better hold of the specials.

Is Dolly Headed To Destin?

Florida's Destin Log newspaper is sharing whispers that Dolly Parton may be bringing one of her dinner theater attractions to their area.

Property reportedly sold for $4.25 million dollars was purchased by the investment company which does business as Dolly's Pirate Voyage and Dixie Stampede are owners of the property. John Paul Somers Realty sold the property and told the paper they couldn't divulge the future use of the property but an exciting announcement would be coming in the upcoming weeks. Okaloosa County Growth Management Director Elliot Kampert said he and Destin officials have met representatives for the project.

The Dixie Stampede has locations in Pigeon Forge (close to Dollywood) and Branson, MO with a location in Myrtle Beach operating for years, until it was revamped and re-launched as Dolly's Pirate Voyage. All have been very successful.

TMZ reported last Halloween that Dolly was in Los Angeles and purchased Pirate's costumes at Trashey Lingerie. So maybe she's gearing up to publicize the announcement and opening, if it's indeed true.

Wouldn't it be great if Dolly would bring her Pirate's Voyage to Nashville?

In Memory of Miss Pattie Page

I'm very saddened by the death of music legend, Patti Page. I had the pleasure of producing a song with Patti that will appear on an album being released later this year. What a gracious, classy, grand lady she was, she will be sorely missed.

Patti told me that she began singing professionally on the radio in Tulsa, OK, singing Gospel Music. The day I worked with her she was recording a Gospel song and she felt as if she had came full circle. To my knowledge she hasn't recorded since our recording, so it is probably her very last recording, if not, one of her last.

Ms. Page died January 1, in Encinitas, CA. In September of last year she posted a note on her website, for her fans stating that she would no longer be traveling on the road to do performances as it was physically hard on her body. In the letter she remised of the days she traveled all over the world, explaining she never thought that would end, and while she still had her God given voice, the rest of her body was limited.

w/Patti Page recording in Tulsa, OK
The Tennessee Waltz, How Much Is That Doggy In The Window, Mockingbird Hill, Cape Cod, so many great songs will always be associated with this beautiful woman's legacy. Legends like Patti Page, should be in every Hall Of Fame you can think of. Hopefully, one day, The Country Music Hall Of Fame will take notice of all these incredible fixtures in the fabric of their music and honor them with inductions, while they are still here to say thank you. It seems that they are more interested in honoring people who weren't known until late 80's and/or 90s. I take nothing away from those inducted, congratulations to them, but legendary females like Patti Page, Dottie West, Martha Carson, and many others should be inducted posthumously.

The angels have some competition now that Patti has joined them.

Does Leann Tip Photogs/Paps In Exchange For Good Photos??

According to and other media outlets, Leann Rimes, allegedly tips off paparazzi as to whereabouts and in exchange they only sell flattering pictures of her. The reports seem to be all of sorts because Leann has asked for privacy in her personal life, feeling that she is being hypocritical. Personally, I don't see it that way at all. If Leann is tipping the paps off and allowing them to take pictures, then it's not her personal life, it's work. If she has a good thing going with them, then they will be more apt to be kinder to her. Genius!

I'm not sure what all the hullabaloo is about, this practice of staging photos for the press has happened as long as there has been a Hollywood. Celebs should take a page from Leann's book and follow suit. It's only when celebs shut them selves down from the camera or fans, that things get ugly. The cat and mouse game is enjoyed, no matter what most celebrities will sell you on a tv show. Without the paparazzi's, without staying in the media, in front of the fans, you aren't relevant and your career suffers. If your in the bidness to sing, act, perform, and not be famous, then join your local theater group, Hollywood isn't for you.

Seems to always be a hate on Leann day in the press. I get it, to a degree. Lost a lot of respect for her for cheating on her husband. I hate cheaters, I was in one of those type of marriages, it's not fun. :)

Leann's album Spitfire drops April 30.

Update On Georgia's Plans for Little Richard's Childhood Home

Today I received exclusive notification for the plans that will take place on Little Richard's childhood home in Macon, Georgia. Several reports erroneously reported that the house will be turned into a museum. Here is the information from the Office Of Communications I received in a statement released exclusively to today.

"The childhood home of Little Richard will not be turned into a museum, it will be used as a resource center for the community. The resource center will be, among other things, a repository for the oral and written history that will be collected as part of the mitigation slated for the interchange project. As part of the project the house will be relocated (to a lot adjacent to the Community Garden on the west side of I-75) and rehabilitated to retain its historic integrity. The overall mitigation efforts have started, actual work on the " Little Richard House" will likely begin towards the end of 2013. Currently, the rehabilitation plans for the house are being developed. All the mitigation is scheduled to be completed by mid 2015."

It would have been great to have had an incredible Little Richard museum however, this is an amazing effort to bring hope and light to his home area and I'm sure us fans will get to take a gander inside.

New from Dailey and Vincent

Dailey and Vincent are two of the most stand up guys in the business. Great friends of mine and I'm proud I've gotten to work with them on a song I produced. Here's some news from there way.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 3, 2013) – Last year delivered a wealth of accomplishments for Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent; the duo known as Dailey & Vincent celebrated five years in 2012. Their current release The Gospel Side of Dailey & Vincent (Cracker Barrel/Rounder Records) secured the group its second GRAMMY® nomination this time for “Bluegrass Album of the Year” (Awards to be held February 10, 2013) and landed at the top of Billboard’s year-end review as the #3 Bluegrass Album of 2012. This release marked the duo’s first Gospel album and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums Chart a week following its January 9, 2012, launch. Music critics responded in kind:

…an irresistible album” – Washington Post

“…a Spirit-filled tour de force of hair-raising vocal harmony that crosses Bill Monroe with Bill Gaither…”Country Weekly
Dailey & Vincent toured throughout the country last year, performing over 115 shows with nearly half of them sold-out, including several high-profile and prestigious events with the Grand Ole Opry, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the ACM Honors, the BMI Awards and the IBMA Awards. Their tour schedule will continue to expand as Dailey & Vincent have signed an exclusive booking agreement with CAA, one of the world’s top talent agencies.

The three-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Entertainers of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year winners are active in giving back to the community. The duo founded The Dailey & Vincent Helping Hands Fund, administered through the Cookeville Regional Medical Foundation, a 501©(3) organization in Tennessee. It exists to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged children of Tennessee's Jackson and DeKalb counties to meet immediate medical, nutritional and educational needs not covered by insurance or other means. They helped raise over $25,000 during their September 2012 concert which brought the total monetary contribution to over $80,000 since Helping Hands’ inception in 2010.

Dailey & Vincent will release their new album, Brother of the Highway, (Rounder Records) in March 2013.
