Don Schlitz Inducted Into Songwriters Hall Of Fame

The 43rd annual Songwriters Hall Of Fame Induction will take place in New York City at the Mariot Marquis Hotel on June 14. It's always great music to my ears (pun intended), when songwriters are honored but this year, Don Schlitz will be inducted alongside Tom Jones, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Segar, Harvey Schmidt, and John Steinman.

Not only is Don Schlitz one of Nashvilles most famous and very entertaining personalities, he wrote Kenny Rogers's mega hit, "The Gambler". I performed "The Gambler" in my elementary school talent show, not that he would add that to his list of accolades! Schlitz also wrote, "When You Say Nothing At All", made famous by Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss and "On The Other Hand", made famous by Randy Travis.
